Since I live on Long Island, I'd like to add this to my Garmin Mobile XT for WinCE. My maps are gmapsupp.img so how do I do it and can I?

OOOOOPS...

rename it GMAPSUPP.IMG and use Jetmouse keygen to make GMAPSUPP.UNL

other name is GMAPPROM.IMG -> GMAPPROM.UNL

insert both \Garmin folder

One more question. If I add the new gmapsupp won't it overwrite the old gmapsupp and all the other maps?

make backup your maps. old ones overwrite when you add new map same name

i think you can try GMAPPROM GMAPSUPP and test GMAPSUP2 too

and look this http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2188-Garmin-MapSelect

Here's what I did. Renamed the download gmapprom.img and created unlock using JM keygen. The copy and pasted the new gmapprom.img to my Garmin folder and created notepad gmapprom.unl which I copy to my Garmin folder. How did I do?

Done. Now what should I see?

EDIT: Let me explain more. I have two map sets presently on my device. GMAPSUPP.IMG for NE US and GMAPSUP2.IMG for SE US and now GMAPPROM.IMG. In map sets tools I see Basemap and the other two but nothing for the new addition.

If I do that, yes it will work but won't I not have access to the other maps?

chas, why you didn't merge all mapsets in one , that's more simple :) than switcgin from one to another ;) ?

Did you have installed all that maps in mapsource? If you don't have them in mapsource, i expained somewhere in garmin forum on some thread how to import .img files to mapsource, and then you'll can export all them in one img file ;) , or you can use some of garmin tools for merging .img files in to one img, search here in garmin forum, and you'll find all that things ;) !
I'm all what I'm not!

@chas521,

experienced this before on my china pnd (wince 6.0, 480x272), cant see my new addition in map sets. seems that gmxt in pnd cant read gmapsup2.img as a map file, only gmapprom.img & gmapsupp.img.

what i did was to placed the new addition in nandflash\garmin (named gmapsupp.img/gmapsupp.unl too), my regularly use map as gmapprom.img/gmapprom.unl & another gmapsupp.img/gmapsupp.unl, both in sdmmc\garmin, then i can see all in map sets.

maybe this can work for u too, try it...
