Topo Australia V3 - Find Address function doesn't work

Postby coupeborgward » Wed Jan 04, 2012 12:31 am

Greetings

I uploaded (using MapSource) the Topo Australia V3 Map to my GPSMAP 60cx device and it all working apart from the Find Address functionality. It never can find a street etc. But if I search for a city it immediately suggests me a list of city. It seems that the find functionality for addresses is broken. If I browse in the map on the device it also shows me the addresses so they are embedded in the map

Any suggestions ?

To find addresses, the map must have included an address database. This is normally the case only in City Navigator maps and not in topo maps. Topo maps are not made for house-to-house-routing. That means your Topo Australia V3 works properly.

That make sense :) Is there a way to merge an address database into the Topo Australia V3 map ?

In Europe it works with most of Topo maps, that you can use the address index from City Navigator, also if the CN is deactivated. Maybe it works with australian maps too?

You need the CN map on the device too and than it even works in Australia.

Thanks for all your advice. I got it working this morning. Found the CN map and install them with the topo maps on my advice. Now I can search for addresses an also can switch between both maps. Very handy. I use the topo ones when I go dirt bike riding and the CN ones in the car. Love my 60CX

Thanks again
