Hi Guys,

I got a zumo 660 that had System Software Missing message.
I used Kunixs cure 3 to get it in Mass Storage mode and deleted all the files that could cause the problem, disconnected the device from the computer to flash the original firmware.
Then start the problem...
Insted of flash the firmware it is behaving like a pen drive. I can not get the firmware running, because it connects to the computer and does not appear at Updater program. It seems that does not allow me to go in Pre boot mode.

I tried to format with How to properly format a Nuvi after using kunix's cure , run webupdater but when I disconnect it does not update.

I did exactly like this, but the problem is that I can´t flash the original firmware because it goes to MSM when I plug it in the computer. It can´t go in preboot mode

Maybe you do not follow everything correctly ...
GarminCure3's CURE firmware will never boot, it can only enter the mass storage mode.
then try formatting the internal flash drive with RMPREPUSB as suggested at the GarminCure3 topic.
If doing this still doesn't help boot the ORIGINAL firmware, then you can try NV clearing (I will tell you how).

I changed the computer, the cable, and it worked!!
I flashed the original firmware, made by Cure3, and runned a webupdater. Copied back all the remaining folders and files.

No cure was needed, this is nearly always a problem with rgn14 and it's not caused by corrupt file/s in the file system but can be caused from having flashed a faulty fw_all.bin. Nearly every time this happens, all that's needed is to re-flash original firmware usually, that is unless the flash chip has damage. Erasing rgn41 [nonvol] doesn't help with this usually either.

Anyway, I think this is the same device posted about in [Please Register or Login to download file] and the problem of attaining preboot has now been solved there.

Hi, anyone still got the file to run and boot into the zumo 660. my unit is stuck at the loading map page. and computer doesn't recognise it.
