Altitute only shows after reboot - Primo 1.2

Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:45 pm

This one has me stumped.

On Primo 1 and 1.2 after unit 1st fires up (Tried on 2 different in dash 2 dins with 128mb) altitude shows as '0'.
If you reset using red off button in Primo and reopen altitude works.

Any ideas

ps: both units are 128mb :)
Current gps's with same issue:

I don't normally have altitude displayed, but i tried with both my pda and pna together, The pda thinks it's 200ft higher than the pna

Both have 8.5.11.168090 Nov 17 2010
Both are connected to 8 satellites and have high accuracy
I don't know which one is right (or closest to)

Something to investigate over the weekend while it's raining...

With the winCe5 units alt is ok. I think the problem lies in winCe6 somewhere.
Further to the above post even though Alt comes up on a reboot it doesnt change its height setting in Primo or iGO8.
It was always accurate for me before.

Have you tried any other software?

Is there anything other than IGO

No not on the win ce 6 units. Ive even had issues trying to get Garmin to even run.
What other ones show Alt?

Im still guessing there is a conflict on wince6 and the gps pcb? somewhere.

Apparently some people like to run a programme called "Tomtom", whatever that is

There are posts around here of users changing from Primo 1.1 to 1.2 and the GPS speed is erratic or the position jumps around when the device is stationary, so i guess that Primo doesn't like the way the GPS data is delivered, (Maybe that it's cached data)

My PNA i was using earlier does not cache GPS data but my PDA does and there was about 200ft altitude difference between them.
