Arrow & Car Size Issue

Arrow & Car Size Issue

Postby sukistar » Tue Apr 22, 2014 8:19 pm

Hi, Help please.

Primo 2.4 but i think will be the same thing on all primo's?

I want to make the arrow smaller, about half the size. I have done it in the 3D mode with the help of a very nice man on here but it does not reduce the size in 2D mode which is what i prefer to use. These are the lines for 3D and then play around with the numbers at the end of the 3 lines :

[map]
auto_nightmode=1
map_mode="3D"
3dcarsizemul=6000
3dcarsizemin=4000
3dcarsizemax=5000

My question is if i also add the same lines again but changing 3D to 2D and then the rest of the lines will that work ? Or is there a completely different way?

any help would be gratefully received.

cheers

map_mode="3D" try putting a ; in front of this command ;map_mode="3D". You may need to delete the save folder also. Completely shutdown your device, wait a few seconds and re-start.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

OK, Thanks Chas, will try that and feed back. not sure what that line actually does anyway as the map starts up in what ever state i leave it in any way.

I'll try it and see.

Hi Chas, No luck I'm afraid.....

changed as you suggested but no difference to the arrow or anything else for that matter. still wonder what that line is for but thats for another day. I really do want to shrink the arrow. Why its such a large scale compared to the mapping is beyond me and the thing is the system works to the center of the arrow so to they eye, half the time it looks like you have driven across the road before turning if you know what i mean. Picky I know, but the 3D smaller version looks so much better.

Any more Ideas?

Try this entry in the sys.txt. It works in iGO8. Play with the numbers.

[map]
3d_scale_carmodel=1
3dcarsizemul=8500
3dcarsizemin=5500
3dcarsizemax=6500

Looks like a good line so it will scale up and down with the map? but does it do it in 2D mode as well? on the 8. I'm gonna try it any way but just wondered if you have seen it in 2D?

Try playing with these values in sys.txt;

[2d]
mincarsize=25
mincarsize_zoomlevel=2000
maxcarsize=150
maxcarsize_zoomlevel=200

Chas , Steve.....

Sorry to report tried both options along with the delete save over a period of 2 hours of in and out to the car, changing numbers and resetting everything after delete save but no joy.... Bloody arrow, so annoying...

But a big thanks for trying to help and open to any more suggestions?

cheers

Steve

[2d]
mincarsize=110
mincarsize_zoomlevel=3000
maxcarsize=110
maxcarsize_zoomlevel=3000

I've found those lines above make the arrow nice and small on an 800x480 device.

[2d]
mincarsize=70
mincarsize_zoomlevel=3000
maxcarsize=70
maxcarsize_zoomlevel=3000

And those work well on a 480x272 screen.

JmaCWQ

Works great, upped the numbers just a little but its just fine now. so for anybody else wanting smaller cars in " 2D " then these lines are for you, just add to sys txt and you dont even have to delete your save file.

Thanks again

No worries Sukistar.
I found the only way to get the arrows to change size was make the min & max values the same.
Someone more knowledgeable might know why that is but I don't.
Both the Igo8 & Primo that I use the sizes won't change unless I do that.
