Held Captive,

Maps are welcome.
Any chance of uploading the other files that bernievink mentioned?

Cheers

Hi Bondy

As the files from TomTom are significantly larger,
is it possible the mising files are somehow embedded in the larger .FBL file ?

Hello Bernie
The missing files would not be embedded in the .FBL file, they are separate files. I sent a PM to the author but have not heard back. Hopefully the author will check the posts on here about the missing files. It might have been easier to compress all the required files in RAR format.

Hi Folks

Update 3 to using TomTom files in IgoPrimo
I have now also placed the .fbl and .poi from TomTom 2021.06 into my Blaupunkt New York 830 head unit.
It also works fine with these files. so it would seem the files from "TomTom" and "Here" are very similar.

I am attempting to download the TomTom australia truck 1075 files to see if there is any similarity between
Here file structure and TomTom file structure.

will also check to see if any speedcams, certificate, global gfc, phoneme and buildings files exist in this .rar.
definately hoping for .fda .fjw .fpa .fsp .ftr files for truck route avoidance, bridge height limits etc.

Will let you know what I find
I just wish someone from out there would also provide the IgoPromo files for the Here Australia 2021-Q2.
or hopefully even the Q4 ones soon to be released.

bernie,

Let us know if you get those other files.

There used to be couple of people on this forum that had shared both HERE and TomTom (previously known as Navteq or Sensis from memory), unfortunately they are both retired and no longer afford subscription.

Hi Bondy

I am afraid the files look completely different.
42 files in rar package most of them .dat files a few .meta .ttd and .sqlite
nothing we can use or convert here
still hoping for better luck next time.
As to being retired I am 73 and still travelling,
I would be willing to pay for a subscription but none of my devices are recognised by navieextras as allowed to buy maps.
I will have to keep looking and hope for help from others.

Cheers all for your help and hopefully these links work.

Thanks Captive,

Files loaded OK and the maps appear to be 2021 Q4. There was some major roadworks completed just up the way in early December 2021 and these are shown on the maps.

Cheers

I've just tried the first link, and it goes to Bayfiles site with no ads. Downloaded the file OK.

I do use Ublock Origin, so that may be blocking them.

Just tested without blocker, and still no adverts.

What did you use for route files? Have you just added the maps to an existing, i.e. earlier, TT map directory?

I'm using Here maps ATM, no TT maps installed. I think my last TT map is from 2019.

Hi dRdoS7

What I did was to replace my here australia 2020Q4 .fbl and .poi files with the new files from TomTom
but i left all the other 2020Q4 files in place in their normal directories to allow for routing and truck information.
This combination works well in both my xGody in my motorhome and in my Blaupunkt NewYork830 in my Peugeot.
It is a little fiddly doing this but as no Here files available it is better than old maps.

I didn't know you could "mix-n-match" Here & TT!

Great info. Love these forums.

I'll pull the SD card out, and do an update right now. Hopefully we'll get our new caravan soon, and can go travelling again.

Many thanks,

I have iGo8 and just replaced the .fbl file in my 2020Q4 with the new TT one from 'held captive'. I don't bother keeping the .poi files up to date as I don't use them at all.
I have kept my own speedcam file, updated for Western Australia only, if anyone wants a copy.

bernievink,

I have suspicion that the truck Australia TomTom 1075 map files you downloaded onlyworks with a Speecific TomTom device like XXL540, GoLive or similar and not an IGO8 device due to different inherit properties required.

Thanks bondy99

I have just completed a 1100 km tour of Victoria in my motorhome and found the TomTom map very good.
the only gripe is speed limits seemed a bit funny at times.
a section of a highway shown as 40 sped where it should have been 100.
other places where speed limits were 50 or 60 no limit shown on GPS map at all
but still happy with upgrade. yet hoping someone will provide new here australia maps soon.
