Backlight Settings

Backlight Settings

Postby Bleep55 » Thu Jul 07, 2011 7:35 pm

I am using Igo 8.3.4.xxxx in my Mio S501. I am trying to have more adjustment of the screen brightness in the day and night mode. This is my current settings in the systxt. file

[power]
backlight_manage_values = 1
backlight_max = 100
backlight_min = 0
backlight_methods = 39

I can make adjustments but it "seems" to only work on the lower 25% of the slider switch found on the "Device Settings" screen.

How can I make the adjustments work through the entire slider switch.

Thanks

Change the value "backlight_max = 100" to a lower number.

My Mio M400 only has eleven different backlight levels (backlight_max = 11)
The Navman S50 has about 80 (From memory) (backlight_max = 80)

Too high a number means only a portion of the slider does anything and too low a number means you won't get full brightness.

Play around with the number until you get it right for your device...

11 is the magic number. It works great.

Do you know what these settings control?
backlight_manage_values = 1
backlight_methods = 39

Thank you for the help

Thank you for the help

1st settng is 1 like enabled control by entering values, and not to allow to device by it's power scheme to set backlight

2nd is depended of device brand, and every device has some values from 1 to 100, sometimes in data.zip you can find correct backlight method for some of pna devices, ppc, etc.
I'm all what I'm not!
