Becker Active 50 & Primo 9.6.1.215570: How to display rounda

Postby xnetrobmich » Wed May 02, 2012 1:43 pm

Hello,

Originally, the device did not display highway exit numbers and roundabout exit numbers as I was used to in IGO R3.

I have tried this setting in sys.txt:

Code: Select all
[interface]
showexitnum=1

The result was that I have enabled highway exit numbers only.

Question is: how to enable exit numbers for roundabouts?

Tried already.
show_exit=1 enables EXIT button on Primo interface.

You may also need this

[roundaboutcam]
enabled = 0
centery = 50

Adjust as necessary.

Tried that, too. It does not work on Primo, but on IGO R3 and it is for the camera follwing the car movement in the roundabout. "0" just disables the camera movement and you have a static image with a moving car/arrow. "1" enables the camera movement following the car/arrow. But t didn't work on Primo as it is, or it just needs additional settings. However it seems not to be for the exit numbers.

I'm trying! Does the nav announce what exit you must take?

Have you tried this:

[tts]
announce_exit_directions=1
always_say_road_names=1
skip_exit_numbers=0

Yes. Audio is ok, it tells me which exit to take. Only no number on the screen.

I honestly don't know then. It might be a map issue only. Good luck. Or you might just have to go back to iGO8

Since I have been using Primo (since the very first version, and mostly with Navteq maps...though I have also tried Teleatlas/TomTom maps from time to time), I do not recall ever seeing a roundabout exit number. Voice yes, as in "Take the second exit in the roundabout.....", but not a number on the screen.
I also do not remember them in iGo8, but that may be simply due to how long it has been.....and maybe mapsets have changed significantly since then. Maybe they used to have roundabout exit numbers in the maps, and now they don't?
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

In IGO 8.3 they are because I have used it prior to switching to Primo.
Here it is how it should look like:
4150

In Primo they should be there because I have discovered the files exitnums.bmp and exitnums_23.bmp in data.zip (ui_backer/common) containing the numbers and there is also a screenshot of them here:

As I still use iGO8.3 only, I can acknowledge that iGO8.3 (in combination with latest TA maps) announces the roundabout exit by speaking and by showing the exit number. As iGO8 has always done.

Nice! How did you do it?

I have to mention that Becker runs a cusomized version of Primo 2.0. It could be that they limited the user interface. Question is what did they do to stop the exit numbers show on the screen?

I don't have a Becker device, So i never used the Becker version, I use Yurbuh Tuggly's version with the Dimka skin.

It maybe that Becker removed the code from the script inside the data.zip that displays the number...

Oh THAT!
The "Next Maneuver" preview!
Yes, I see that too.
I misunderstood and thought he meant on the main map screen with the direction arrow.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.
