Binatone B350

Binatone B350

Postby Birdperson » Wed May 11, 2016 3:23 pm

Hello guys

I was recently given one of these units and after a bit of research I have come to the conclusion that the included software is rubbish. :044:

I have tried to find information on how to get other software onto the unit but all the links I've found no longer work.

Would anybody be able to help me out with some info or links? I'd like to give this unit a chance before I just bin it.

It's a Binatone B350 UK&ROI, it makes the "bong bing" tone at startup and the software version is B.090220.QX.B01

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, please move it if it is.

Does anybody have any idea what would be the latest maps update for this? Running TomTom (with TomTom AutoActivate v1.8.8.5)

Ignore my question, I was able to find 970 maps and get them activated with FastActivate. Everything is in the TomTom forum.

My only question now is how to program the sat nav to play an audible tone for speed cameras?

I've added the latest file and they appear but with no sound?

Radars from TT or others e.g. SCDB
Are been placed in the Map folder (bnl, Europe, etc.)

Radars TT is an ov2 file.

When the Radars are activated, you also have a file dct
So if they are activated you have a
ov2 file
dct file

Often you see there is a ver file to but this is not necessary
The two mentioned files are enough

After activation TT Radars are generally set, but you can set them individually.
Your own sound and warning time in seconds instead of distance.

The icon Live Services (TomTom Services o.i.d)
Radars
Change warning preferences

When you see the TT Radars as Poi then they are NOT activated.

Thank you for your reply. I've placed the premium UK files from here: http://www.navitotal.com/general-discussions-about-tomtom-f81/tomtom-official-speedcams-2016-t6933.html?hilit=radars into my maps folder and used FastActivate.

However, even after going into 'TomTom Services' > 'TomTom Safety Cameras' and selecting duration in seconds and the tone - it still does not work. I can see the camera on approach and the speed restriction, but no audible tone.

Is there a separate UK radar file I should be adding? I could only see 'radar'-named files for other countries.

You don,t need additional files. It works fine for me.

I made the next route

Hemel Hempstead
Two Waters Road 6
to
Maylands Avenue 5

And got 3 Radars on that route.

It seems to me that everything is alright.
So I don,t no why it is not working on your Binatone.

ps.
What ar you meaning

You must see
Safety_Cam_UK_Premium.ov2
Safety_Cam_UK_Premium.ov2.dct in your Map

I can see the cameras on a routes but the sound/warning tone does not play. I have already tried setting this as mentioned.

I have those two files and the dct. I was wondering if there was an extra radar file that I was missing.
