Can't get iGo primo 9.2 Feb 2011 North America

Postby misrababbu » Tue Jan 03, 2012 5:07 am

Guys,

I need desperate help from you guys, as i recently bought Igo primo 9.2 2011 for North America, previously i had iGo 8.3.2, which is ok, but lacking so many features, so thought to upgrade to Primo. It has 320x240, 480x272 and 800x480, the problem is that it works full screen only on 800x480 in my 8" Navigation system (China made, bought from ebay). As soon i start playing here and there or go to map screen it throws the "out of memory" error. I tried everything suggested in forum, removed building, dem, speedcam, but it keeps coming all the time. with other resolutions (320x240 and 480x271) it doesn't stretch to make it fit to screen. Please help me to get this resolved; i don't know what is the RAM size of this system. i am attaching bunch of filesfor you guys to get the details.

Thanks in advance...

Well, if you bought it, the seller will be able to fix it for you, that's called customer service ;)

When you say "bought", what do you mean, exactly?
A hardware device with Primo preinstalled, a retail package from a legitimate shop, or some other way?
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

From your crash log, it looks like your device has only 32 MB of RAM (27 mb usable memory). This means you can never run Primo on it.

That certainly is very true.
However, it also shows:
MaxMemory: 129 MB

I wonder if the unit is similar to the way some PDA's "share" memory between storage/RAM.
If so, that could be cured with the WinCE memory slider.

That's make me confused, as in one crash filke it shows 0 mb free and on other it shows 25mb free, however out of memory error is common in both maps..i Go8 and Primo..

Either way, the system seems to be not allocating enough memory for just about any navigation program to run well.
Yes, I once ran iGo 8 on a 32MB (total memory..RAM + Storage) PDA, but that was ages ago and I could have almost no options enabled.
You need to solve the memory allocation situation on your device. Do you have access to the WinCE desktop/OS?

I believe Fatboyfun has a tool/script to do what you need...but I can't seem to find it at the moment.
I'm sure he will be along to help you when he sees this.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Set your device to run MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe, or rename the MobileNavigator folder and MobileNavigator.mscr/.exe

Nothing will happen on screen...

Then try Primo again.

Only if your device doesn't save it's registry then open MobileNavigator.mscr with Notepad and add the line...

Run ("\{path to}\{igo.exe}")

Replace the {} with the folder\file.exe of your build of Primo
Currently sleeping...

@misrababbu

Don't worry about the crash log and the map error. It will always show a map error even when the program is working correctly since the license has been cracked.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

Well it shows the memory error and hangs, the only way to get rid of hangged screen is to restart the car and navigation system again.

It will set your memory allocation for programs to a level much higher (if it's possible to do so on your system), so that you can run a navigation program.

Yurbuh,

How to set the the device to run the mobilenavigator, as mentioned below by fatboyfun -
"Set your device to run MobileNavigator\MobileNavigator.exe, or rename the MobileNavigator folder and MobileNavigator.mscr/.exe

I am new to all this, so need help..my SD card has these files in it and device picks only file NAVIGATION.exe to run, do i need to add some commands in sys.txt? 3665
