Cant run iGO8 on Navman iCN 720

Postby chas521 » Wed Dec 12, 2012 5:04 am

Nope again. My sys.txt is made for a res of 480_272. Nabi had you make those entries to force your other program to use that res. Just make any entries in my sys.txt that are specific to your device.

BTW, what are you doing to my two-parts? How are you getting them to your device?

Okay, So I will just leave the sys.txt as stock then..?

I extracted the part 1 and it created a ig08 folder around 458MB, and then I copy the folder to the SD card. thats it..

Sounds like you did it correctly. You used what unzipping program? Sorry to ask you questions like this. Remember to add your port and baud to the sys.txt.

Definitely use Winrar. Winzip and 7-zip have been known to cause problems. Isn't that your baud and port in post #5?

Oh post #5 was something else, from the cut down 30MB version of iG08, not this one. I'll just keep the original Sys file I guess and make no changes?

problem is iGO8 ran instantly in my icn520 but neither the cut down version or the full version even runs fo more then a second on my icn720.

I have seen some youtube videos of the icn720 running igo8 and primo but mine isn't...what do I do? if not igo is there anything else I can run on it?

If the resolution is correct, I assume it is, what rests is a license problem.

The crackers not only crack the program, but the license as well.
An official/non-official combination of license and program is non functional. As simple as that.

There is also a relation with other things, time, feature and regio related. Time being the time limit e.g. one can use certain maps or one can use a demo build. Feature like TTS, TMC etc are permitted or not by a license too. Regio of course means related to maps (don't interfere with the working of iGO but the non licensed maps are inactive. It can result in a no map error).

It's pure logic that first thing iGO does on start is check resolution but above all the license-program link.

Thus when you got a "INIT API" error - please confirm - that is definitively a license matter. This could mean the license is wrong or got corrupted somehow.

Seeing the screen loading at start means the resolution must be correct now.
Then iGO fails to start because of the license. I have no idea why unless the file got corrupt. Or the license you have is completely wrong (by mixing up different builds)
Replace it/then. You should have a working one somewhere. When needed, best to ask in the other forum for license(s) that are valuable downunder.

Will iGO start with no content installed except the basemap.fbl?

Hey guys, you never told me about a crash file? well I posted it in have a look? I think it might be a skin issue or something?? if that is the case then good, because I can run the 32MB iGO instead of this 500Mb one and give my friend my old 64MB SD card :)

That's because the crash.txt can be misleading, both builds of iGO you have are suitable for 480x272 resolution displays, you can check inside the data.zip for the 480_272 folder yourself.

I think it's time to start over...

BTW 64MB?

Is there another GPS I can run as good as iGO? In case I am unable to get iGO working? TomTom 7 or something else? garmin?

not sure whats that 64MB about..
