Postby smartufo » Thu Mar 07, 2013 1:34 pm

Already tried with a loader. Same problem :-(
Found a YouTube demo for iGO8 running on iCN720 here [Please Register or Login to download file] . Not sure how he did it.

i can unlock it, but it just wont run igo due to some memory restriction that prevents program .exe's bigger then 1mb to run.

Can't say about the S50 unless you try it. Take a look at that unlock site I gave you above and see if it can be unlocked.

The S50 is a forerunner to the Mio Moov, and is an easy unlock, and easily runs Primo 2 with all the extras.

You can do a lot worse than that device.

Main specs are, 480x272 screen, 64MB RAM, 512MB internal flash, SD card slot up to 2GB, external GPS antenna socket.

Additional info, It has Bluetooth handsfree calling, but Bluetooth is only switched on when the dialler app or the original GPS app is on screen!

Look out for signs of tampering as the wrong unlock method kills the USB connection rendering the device useless.

The MY series isn't available in my area so i have no personal hands-on experience with it, however most, if not all current mio/navman's are Moov based.
I know it's older but i'd rather have the S50, bigger screen, very loud, WinCE 5, and i have played with this device many times, so i know what works and what doesn't.
That's not to say the MY30 won't be a good device.

Seems to be ok, I'd rather have the bigger screen, but that's me.

You'll find that the S50 and MY30 use very similar software internally.

Don't rename any files on the internal drive as that's asking for trouble, you need to be careful with unlocking, we can show you how...

I would have gotten the S50 for about $20 but the owner is leaving the country and its strictly pickup only and I am not sure if I can make it in time!

the My30 I can get for like 5 bucks. So thought what the hey, I like bigger screens but the person I am going to give this to has been using my tiny icn 520 navman for a year now and seems not to mind too much, so maybe I'll just put igo on the my30 and give it to them!

yea, I will get back to you guys once I get the device! thanks a lot for the help with my gps woes :D
