Chinese problems

Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:21 pm

Hi,

I have just bought this chinese satnav from Ebay, [Please Register or Login to download file] , but I am having a problem that I hope someone can help me sort out!!

The device is running OK, but I want to delete some of the language files etc. that I will never use. However, when I try to go into the primo file when it is connected to my PC, there is only a .exe password file in the folder. Is there any way I can get past this to get at the primo files? Have already contacted the seller, and they say it is put in place by their supplier, so they dont know the password!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is Primo loading from internal flash memory, or from a removable SD Card?

In one of the screenshots in the link you gave, it shows the default Windows CE desktop

....can you actually get to that?

Yes, I can get to Windows CE.

When you tap/open My Device (a scaled down Windows Explorer), what do you see and how far can you go in the file structure?
If you are still locked out, I can only tell you what I would do if I ever bought an electronic device with a password protection that the seller could not disclose to me:
1) I might assume it was a stolen device
2) I would demand a refund and send it back.

I can get to the same files (under resident flash) as when I connect to my PC via USB. However, the password exe file is not a valid CE application.
