Hello folks,

Hope you can help me.

I have a Chinese generic in built hifi in my Fiesta that has the "Navigator" iG08 software loaded. It actually is a very nice sat nav and works well.

I would like to update the maps. I know I do this on the removable Micro SD card, but the how and whats....no clue.

Where do I buy the maps and where do I place them on teh SD Card? I want UK and Ireland.

Details from help page are as follows:

Navigator
NavNGo iG08
8.3.4.142975
May 11 2010
Map:\united_kingdom_R3.NQ.2011.Q3-111104.fbl

Simple advice, appreciated very much.

Thank you in advance

Rachel

You can get some of the latest UK specific maps from here:
UK-ROI-Content-pack..

All maps go in the {iGo Folder}\content\map folder (the *.fbl files are the maps). Back up what you have and replace with the newer files. If it works, you are good to go. If not, you may not have an appropriate version of iGo installed, and it may need to be replaced (not that hard, and many can help you) in order to use newer maps than what came with it.

Many thanks for your help. I understand.

Is there a site I can get the maps from easily? That links on that guys thread either had been removed for copyright breach or set my virus check off when I click on the download sites. Is there a more reliable website?

Thank you again....

I just checked, the rapidgator links are alive, A tip for hosting sites is not to click on the obvious download buttons, these are adverts for rubbish spyware ridden downloader software, instead look for the less obvious links.

Thanks, same thing...again. Have to pay, virus issue, tonnes of adverts....just want a map.....

Must be a simpler way for this system...!!

There's no need to pay for anything provided by Navitotal, but navigating through the minefield of external hosting sites can be a headache.

Thanks again. Think I'll give up. Just wanted a site where someone lists the maps as they come out. Would have paid for a simple service like that.

Big sigh.

It really isn't that difficult, but unfortunately hosting sites make it tricky, but not impossible to get the files for free, obviously they want you to sign up and pay for their so called premium access.

Have a read of this thread for more info...

Once you figure it all out you'll be downloading like a pro.

The depositfiles link for the Teleatlas maps in post 2 are working. Shouldnt take too long for you to download the 169MB!!!

If one of the uploaders links dont work, there are plenty of others there to trHTH

Thanks guys, will give it a go.

Is this the lastest map for my device?

Yours!! Struggling!

Yes, this post that I keep up to date contains everything you will need...

Also, this post...
http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?3538-iGO-Primo-Enhancements.

Tells you what each file is, and where it goes.

It is important to make a full backup of your existing iGO installation before doing anything.

There is a small chance you will have to change the whole application, but the fact it is a Chinese device means it's unlikely.

If you get license errors or iGO fails to start with the updated content, post back, we can fix it.

Maybe using a browser other than internet explorer would help, personally I use google chrome with adblock (removes most of the fake download buttons) installed + mse and I never get problems.

Internet explorer can be the root of all problems!
