Converting TT ov2 poi to Kml version......

Postby ascot54 » Sat Feb 23, 2013 12:23 pm

Hi All....

I have managed to convert my TT poi set over to kml version to install on my latest trucksatnav...

[Please Register or Login to download file]

running with IGo 9.6.2.209584

however....

it only seems to show 19 of the pois in my list.... i know i have 3 pois within the space of 4miles of each other in Norwich, yet the new satnave is only showing one...

im quite an experienced pc user.. but this has me baffled....

the poi set has been installed in the path :

content\userdata\poi

my original poi set has around 80 pois of my delivery addresses...

can anyone help please....

Thank you...

Rgds

May I ask how you converted?
In the past, I think I used ITNconvertor for that purpose.

It's obvious the convertion must have gone wrong. Possibly a limitation? I don't know.
So do it again, you can also use a different convertor program.

Hi Nabi....
I d/l and tried to convert using ITNConv like you suggested.... i apologise i had 178 poi's in total..although 20 were duplicates....
deleted them in the TT format first...via ITNConv..
then ran the converter...
imported the new .KML file to my new SatNav...
hey presto... all seem to be there now...
next task.. to work out how to get my work folder showing at the top of the inbuilt poi database and add my own custom bitmap for my poi set...
any advice on that appreciated...
but thank you so much for help thus far with the conversion tool....
well recommend that programme to anyone....

Maybe POIEdit crashed on the double POI's?

I am not sure I understand this part
"next task.. to work out how to get my work folder showing at the top of the inbuilt poi database"

The database you converted is a route, isn't it?
I am not sure but doesn't this work the simplest when you choose "load route"?

and add my own custom bitmap for my poi set...

Is this what you look for?

I tried the editor and was able to conver files with over 200 entries and no problems.
The resulting files list all POI, so if the same is true on your end,
I can only assume that you got a wrong entry (maybe coordinates stuffed up) or that the 19 limit is cause by some othe problem.

Nabi... what i meant was..when i converted my poi set using ITNConv...it created a folder ie _nametc........
However...when i go to find places...my folder sits below all the inbuilt folders within the programme...when i converted using poiedit it placed my folder at the top of the folder options

DU35m....not sure i get your idea...all lat/long are correct as i checked them in Google earth...if there was an error then surely they would not show in Google...also when converted using ITNConv they all converted with no errors...
