Device GPS Advice

Postby coukou » Wed Jul 03, 2013 5:43 pm

Hello,

There are on the market more and more very cheap Chinese GPS devices. Unfortunately, They shine for most of the lack of light (especially on a sunny day) and a low GPS signal.

Anyone could advise a GPS device (Chinese or other) high-quality and affordable price running WinCE 6.0 or Android 4.x?

Regards

I'm using [Please Register or Login to download file] for about 2.5 years. I bought another 7 same devices for friends and family. No complains at all.
If you put it in direct sun, you can't see nothing, and it depends on the angle of the sun, too. I found a shaded area behind the gear shift (VW golf).
It is affordable price for what you get.

EDIT: I've noticed now that this device have the "sold out" note. Look for alternative on the site, I'm sure you can find there something that meets your needs.

TNX filesupload100 for yr reply ;)

I know that several people here have posted threads about them Chinese GPS devices. Unfortunately nobody gives his device's point of view, good or bad. This is the reason for this thread.

I had [Please Register or Login to download file] , I sold it.
In fact, soon there was a little sun, I saw nothing.

hi guys.
I think this is a good thread.
I think that in this time an original navigation unit from the car makers is a pretty expensive optional.
On the other hand the Chinese suppliers have done some good steps forward regarding this issue.
I recently purchased a made in china navigation unit.
It features a a8 1ghz samsung processor and 512mb ram.
It uses the s100 interface.
Installed primo in it (thanks to yourbuh) with Q3 2012 maps.
It runs pretty good and it don't have the display problems stated in the previous comment.
Costs me 408$ (dhl included).

If you look for a portable (non in dash unit) device I agree with glinjik. If you have an actual smartphone use it instead of chinese portable devices. I have previously used sygic in my galaxy s2 and it runs without problems.

Hi bruno,

Nice to hear this is a good thread ;) If people share them infos, this thread will be more relevant.
Although, you've paid $408 for your device (not really affordable price), you'll be kind to share the seller link

hi coukou.
[Please Register or Login to download file]
this is the link that you can see if this product fits your car.
i think that if you want an in dash unit for your car this is the best price and product (and i don't work for this company;)).
the unit fits your dash perfectly (if your model is in the list)
in my case canbus included (no need to cut and attach wires)
4gb internal memory bonus (+gps and media card) and can play 1080p.
attach a rearview camera worth 30$ and you get rid even of the parking sensors.
tell me if this is not convenient

Then try again later ;)

Expensive?
I can confirm that in my country (I drive an Octavia too) a Skoda radio/CD unit (the display also shows rear radar and temperature) costs 350 euros. This is about 449 $ at todays rate. My radio/CD unit is not GPS capable.
