#1
------------
no matter which time zone i choose,
it doesnt remember it,,,,
like if i select EASTERN USA & CANADA as time zone,
the moment i quit iGO8, next time i re-launch it,
time zone wont be EASTERN USA & CANADA as time zone,,,
its gonna be CASABLANCA, MONROVIA,REYKAJAVIK
uhm, is there setting in sys.txt file i can change to fix this issue??

#2
------------
the setting to turn on 3D buildings,
by default its not checked on my iGO8...
but if i turn it ON, by saying OK, show 3D buildings from Far Ditance,
well my iGO8 doesnt remember it again,,,
meaning, the moment i quit iGO8,
next time i re-launch it,
the 3D buldings will be set to OFF instead of ON,,,,,
uhm, is there setting in sys.txt file i can change to fix this issue??there's 2 little glitch with my 5" GPS....

thanx

Some possibilities: There is a setting in your sys.txt wherein your timezone is set to "CASABLANCA, MONROVIA,REYKAJAVIK". Check if there is a [timezone] section in your sys.txt and remove the "index= " line.
Same thing for 3d-building. It might be set on sys.txt. Just remember that sys.txt will override your settings.

The other possibility is that igo is in your sd card and the sd card has the write-protect switch set to on.

Did you do what I told you to do regarding the time setting? Tell everyone here what I told you and if it worked. After you make any change you should delete the save folder again in case it picked up something.

EDIT: Also know that you must completely shutdown your device, wait a few seconds and then re-start.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

ok, lets forget about the time zone then,,,,
anyways, like chas said, when i get a satellite lock,
it auto detects the correct time zone,,
so we'll move on,,,

but the 3D Buildings im puzzled,,,,
when ever i turn ON Building Visibility,
it goes back to OFF value after a device restart....

are these settings ok???

To turn on buildings and landmarks, put in sys.txt:

[map]
3d_landmarks=1
3d_buildings=1
3d_buildings_distance=3

because im wondering, lets say,
the difference between these settings,,,

3d_landmarks=1
and
3d_landmarks=3

when its set to '1',
is this indicating that the option '3d_landmarks' is turned ON
and turned OFF when its set to '3' ?

thx
