Error updating new Navteq2011.Q1 files on IGO8

Postby DxL » Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:31 am

Hi mates,

I am using IGO 8.3.4.142975, and i updated my Navteq map, fta, poi and 3dc files to 2011.Q1 (from 2010.Q4) and i got the message: "Failed to open file: poi_mapclose.spr exiting application". After that IGO closes. This happens only when using Navteq's new map. The same happens in any skin, even if i choose the default.

Then i tried to find out what is making this error, and i found out that the new map works without adding the new fda file.

So i put back the old map with the old fda, and kept the new poi and 3dc without any problem.

Any opinion about this?

Has anybody tried it yet, and if yes, does it work normally?
Has anybody the same problem?

Whats the solution, so that i can use the new Navteq set with fda ?

Thanks in advance!!

Regards,
Jim

When you use the Q4 2010 files, do you see/hear the Driver Alerts?
Are you using any custom branding.zip?

I have read of other people having the same problem in iGO 8, and it seems to relate to missing graphics files, or too many POI icons showing on the map screen at one time.

- Yes, i can see the Driver Alerts without any problem with 2010.Q4 map and fda.

- Yes, i use a branding.zip and data.zip made by another forum here in Greece... The pois that are on the screen are only the speed cameras...
