My feeling about NAVTEQ NA maps

Postby chas521 » Thu Apr 21, 2011 1:34 pm

FWIW, here's my feeling about the NA Navteq maps. I have a pretty strong feeling that the Navteq mapmakers read these forums. They know that Navteq maps are much better in NA than is TA. There is something that Navteq is doing to keep their maps from being spread and shared. I don't know this to be true - like I said, just a feeling. :(

So why couldn't we just buy the latest maps with the license?

we can!
we just need to gather the money!
lets say chas521 is in charge,
everyone who wants NA maps could donate at least $1 to chasz521 using paypal
and then, once we have enough in the pot, chas521 buys them and shares them with us all!

Eskro, I think that you're on drugs LOL. Maybe I'll take the money and hide out in Canada.

Big deal...with enough of us chipping in I'm sure it would only be a few bucks each.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've been doing some reading on IGO8 at PNA sites. They all act like those who have PND units have the plague and they can't be bothered with us. (like they're some sort of royalty)
What Navteq seems to forget is that we have PND units running IGO8 and Primo...period and we're not going away.
So why not help us become legal and allow us to purchase a license and updated maps?
