Do not mess with data.zip !!!
Better to download a iGO or Primo that fits your resolution.

The version that runs on that other device, what version ? Original? Where did you get it?

hiya, version of IGO that i have is from a truck specific satnav i got from china a year or so ago it broke but software was on a mini sd card, the EXE file was called TRUCK.EXE and not IGO.EXE, everything else on the card apart from the EXE file is virtually the same as the structure as the igo files downloaded from here, only difference is everything related to resolution is 0nly 480_272 not 320_240. there is a file in the DATA zip that says projest-config which contains clarion-cobia configuration

The lg505 is an older device thus not that powerful. I found it has only a 300Mhz processor which is on the slow site. The good news is it's Windows CE5 but I don't know how much RAM.
I hope it will have no problems with this iGO : http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?10941-iGo-8.3.5-Minimal-for-low-power-devices-TBM
First get it up and running. We will add maps later as well as truck files. (or you can use yours, if the program is really an iGO or Primo)

Next step is adding content.
The most important thing to tell you is that everything is easy to do. It's a matter of download, unrar, copy and paste. So no worries.
The next important thing is to do it slowly, one step at a time. This I say because your device is rather limp. When you overdo it and want too much in a short time, the chance of failure is big. But do it slowly and discover how far you can go and you will have a travel compagnon.

When your language is already filled in (iGO is in your language as is the voice), you can skip adding new ones. I do not know that iGO download I recommended very well, but if there are languages and voice files present you don't need at all, you can safely delete them. It will save up memory. Keep the ones in your language.
You cannot use TTS (voices that announce street names) for sure, so do not bother downloading them.

Maps you will find here : http://www.navitotal.com/forumdisplay.php?82-Maps-buildings-dem-POI
Download what you need. Also: Since your device has lack of processor power, stick to what you need! No building or DEM file. No eye candy, your processor can't cope.
Add 1 map at a time in the map folder (http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?11326-where-to-put-map-related-files-in-iGO-Primo) and test if it works. Then another map when you need it. The same with POI files.

By 'test if it works' I recommend a few routes in simulation. A short route will test if it works at all, a long route will test the memory (or lack of) of your device. When possible, take your device on the road. Driving a route in real life will show weaknesses (like announcing a street to take when you have passed it already).

hiya, ok, over past few day been adding thigs as advised, 1 map , couple poi, reduced voices to 1, transfered speedcam file from other software folder, speedcams folder is a bit old and outdated, could do with upto date file, everything running fine, i am trucker for a living so have given unit a good workout and no problems so far, by the way, the TRUCK.EXE that i was trying to get running is a clarion mobile map v4.1e (8.3.4.116496) licences nav n go igo 8 worldwide, appearance same as igo8. next thing i need to work out is how to add truck profiles (height, length etc) so unit navigates avoiding bridges etc, have put all truck poi and other related truck files into their respective folders.

Thanks for the update! Glad it's all working.
The latest speedcam files are in the speedcam section (http://www.navitotal.com/forumdisplay.php?84-Languages-voices-speedcams).
Stick to your country when you can. Fatboyfun has uploaded UK speedcams and also UK maps and POI, so when you live there, you are lucky.

I know 8.3.5 is capable of truck routing.
You need the .ftr files for it (in the map folder, with the .fbl files) and possibly (I am not sure) the license(s). When, the 8.3.4 ones should do.
In settings - route settings tick the vehicle button and you should see the truck mode. Of course you must choose it.

I have no experience with truck mode, so I hope further the rest is clear when you see it and it's not that much different from the 8.3.4 settings.

Success.
