I guess when I selected a "day" file it's part of Primo and not of iGo8.3. So I just deleted the save file with the gfx directory and was back to normal. Thank you for your help!

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to change the scheme for iGO8?

Try doing a search for Kimyaci.

Hey Chas, no I'm having problems with the Auto Day/night scheme. It can't get the time from the satellite nor correct GPS time so I set the time zone manually. However it still thinks I'm in Beijing. So whilst I was trying to sort that out I came across a Day setting file and selected it and that was all she wrote. I tried to load various bmp files in GFX but then found out they don't work for iGo8.3 but are for Primo.

So I deleted the save file and restored from scratch. It still won't give me day during daytime but permanent night (appropriate for this time 66 degrees North)...but damn annoying.

More often than not, you will not get the current time/date until you have an actual satellite lock. An incorrect time/date is something that is built-in to the program itself by the program creators. That's just the way it is. Are you still using my iGO8 program with the Kikker skin or did you change it? In the [Kikker] program, go to settings, map screen, color profiles and there you can change the map screen to default daytime for day/night if you wish. If you have already changed from Kikker, there should be something similar. Look around in settings. You shouldn't need to mess with GFX.

Since it said it can't get "auto time zone", I just disabled auto time and gps correct time, and set it manually to AK time. So now it has the time but it keeps giving me the night time screen (reverse CLUT) with the default Bejing time I guess.

I know I can change it but then it becomes permanent night or day. If I make it day, it's too bright at night. And viceversa if I make it "night".

I wonder if I should move to Primo... but having finally succeeded in getting the unit to work...

Inside the color profiles are various schemes. Play around with them and see if you can find one to your liking. Primo will be the same regarding light for day/night.

That's what I was trying to do. It's just a pain that the unit can't take the manual time set and link that to "set night Auto".

Thanx again
