Going from Primo 2.4 back to Primo 1.2

Postby mpourdas » Mon Jan 21, 2013 8:47 pm

I run Primo 2.4, but I would like to "go back" and try again Primo 1.2. The only working link in the program section is

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?11943-Primo-9.2.4.271232-GoldMaster

but unfortunately it does not work with the corresponding dimka skin 1.3.8. Does anybody know a working link for Primo 1.2, or can upload a proper version, which is compatible with dimka?

Did you have a look at the iGO\skins sub-section?

Hi chas521, yes I did look, but I looked only the latest (for 1.2) which is 1.3.8 and the link provided by YT is the one of the dimka website. I think the problem is that the 1.2 which I have downloaded from here (the only one I could find here or elsewhere), is a very recent version (released on Nov 26 2012, according to http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?913-List-of-iGO-8-Amigo-and-Primo-(Windows-CE-Based)-releases ) and perhaps something has been updated and is not compatible with 1.3.8 which is more than a year old. I did not try 1.3.1 or 1.3.0 which are even older versions (but still are supposed to work with 1.2). In fact I also saw in another forum, another user facing the same issue.

You did look at this? http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?5222-diMkaWA-skin-P-1.3.0-for-Primo-1.2 Check the link to the Dimka skin page in post #1. I don't think there should be a problem even if the program is newer. Ultimately, it's up to the files/folders of the program itself.

The link on the thread you mention is the dimka website, which I have gone through thoroughly. Only 1.3.8 is available there and it does not work with Primo 9.2.4.271232. The program works well initially with a change of skin to dimka, but when I exit and reload, it gets stuck somewhere in the process of loading without giving any error.

I see what you mean. I went to the site and you're right! Let me investigate some other ideas. Keep looking here.

I see that a Dimka 2.0 skin is still available at his site. I think the number is 1.5.8 or something like that. I do believe that a 2.0 skin should work for 1.2 also - I could be wrong though. Give it a try - it won't hurt anything.

I have already tried... Menus and fields get displaced, at minimum it becomes ugly and non-functional.

This is why in my original request I looked for a different 1.2 version.

Thanks for the effort, but I cannot compromise. I want to use the dimka skin.

That skin isn't bad. You should try it.

I had tried the gurjon skin for some period before switching to dimka. I agree it is not bad and certainly better than the default, but I like more the functionality of dimka.

So I would like to just have access to a different 1.2 version. Is there some member you would recommend me to PM? Like mikyhouse55, in case he has not seen the thread?

Sorry. I just don't anyone who is using 1.2 anymore. If you must have an additional skin for 1.2 then Gurjon is the best that I could find. Try going to the Dimka site and ask there in their guestbook. But be specific about the version number. Tell them you tried 1.38 and it didn't work right.
