Thanks to all ! I've been searching for hours to get explorer working !
But unfortunatly, the exe apps I put on my sd card (or in the flash disk) do not launch...
response is : "... is not a valid Windows CE application"
I've tried many free windows CE apps for ARM found on the web.
What is the problem? Need dll? Other ressources?
Thanks

This is an English-only forum so all posts MUST be in English so everyone will be informed.
EDIT: We will need the name of your device and all its specifications - at the minimum a link to a site with the specifications.

Hi
there is no cab file you have to copy manually the application cedesktop.exe (google it :-) and rename it in myguide.exe (prior to that you have to rename the original myguide.exe in st else. Do not forget to backup you devide before doing si cause if st goes wrong you ll be in trouble.
Bluetooth from windows ?? do not understand as far as I know BT can only be used with phone just for hand free conversation
Activesync will not work you only have a "drive" like an usb disk
And If your are not sure of what you are doing .. forget it because the device is easy to brick

Thanks chas521,
But even I'm french, I've made effort to write in english.
And Of course, because I'm in discussion "My Guide 4328 - how to acces file explorer ans launch other application", it is easy to suppose, I have one. In my post, I'm speaking about 4328...
Thanks again for this EXCELLENT forum !

Thanks ghjuva,
I'm ok for cedesktop. Working fine.
But many applications are downloaded in CAB. How can I install them?
Bluetooth : as the 4328 has an integrated full fonctions BT in, I think it's possible to get BT connexion to have an internet throught a 3G phone (exemple). Probably need more drivers.
Activesync : I understand that Activesync is not installed in the small WIN CE embeded in that device. But is it possible?
Thanks again

This little app extracts cabs on your PC so you don't need to install them in WinCE.
Instructions included.

Thanks Fatboyfun,
Great but I have to search where to put all this files and folders because apps don't work just by lauching the exe file... The apps is searching for files probably at the wrong place...

Are you getting XXX.exe cannot be found or one of it's components is missing?
Thu Apr 07, 2011 9:11 am
When I double clic on the exe file, I get :"Cannot find 'azimutGPSfree' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all the requiered libraries are available."

Welcome to the frustrating world of WinCE!
This means a dll that the application expects to find in windows is missing, Either Dependancy walker or PEInfo can tell you which dll is missing, Then place the dll into the applications directory.

Thanks again.
Usefull tool.
Seems to have an other problem : processor family...
The apps I tried to get running was i386... hum hum... and the 4328's processor is ARM...
I have to found ARM apps.
Thu Apr 07, 2011 12:18 pm
You can't solve that one lol, ARM is the most common processor so most apps work on ARM or they have versions for ARM and others like SH3, MIPS etc

Well, all the applications I tried was i86 (Dependency Walker) - GoogleMaps, GPSfree,...
I just want to install a simple GPS application that can use my georeferenced madagascar maps.
Myguide Europe is useless for me. I just can get LAT - LONG and a poor DEM map...
Need more search...
Thanks again
