Re: have downloaded a speedcam txt file but extension appears wrong (advice please)

From what I recall to remove the annoying speedcam sound in iGO8 is as follows: go to the data folder [not data.zip], audio folder in which you will find the different .wav files, find !alert5.wav and rename it to !alert5old.wav. I think this is the way. But I could be wrong.

If you want to change the sound in iGO8, just rename the new sound in the folder to !alert5.wav and remember to rename the other to old so you don't conflict.

Hold up spudorange. It didn't work with the renaming. I'm gonna try something else. If it works, then I'll post what I did. Please don't do anything right now until I post again.

@spudorange

OK, my second effort worked. This is how you get rid of that annoying, repetitive speedcam sound in iGO8. Go and open the data.zip [and data folder if you have one], open up the audio folder which has a lot of .wav sounds. Go to !alert5.wav file and delete it. That's all.

What I did was to copy/paste the !alert5.wav file to my computer first before I deleted it.

If you want to make another speedcam .wav file for another sound, just rename the new .wav file to !alert5.wav. Great free .wav files here:
