I HAVE Searched. Tried the solutions - No Good -Need a littl

Postby Atmelflash » Mon Jan 21, 2013 9:49 pm

So I have iGo installed in my Mercedes on a Chinese unit. When the NAV starts it takes me to the "FIND" etc screen instead of going straight to the map screen..

In the solutions for this listed was in a lower corner of the screen there should be a option to start in the map mode. It's not there.

I have tried everything short of editing the start up file, just don't know what to add.

And if anyone knows the way to edit the icon to show my car instead of that goofy huge arrow pointer, maybe you could drop a line or 2 on that also.

Thanks in Advance.

I must assume that it's iGO8 since you speak about an arrow. Take a look here; it has everything you requested.

I won't know until I grab the 2 files and look them over. You stated in that post that you had altered the startup. I'm going to assume it's either through a different version (and that lower screen option I can't find WAS/IS there) or it was done thorugh the sys.txt file. Either way, I can try and load this newer version up. I don't want to loose my 2011 maps though.

ANd I would also assume I'll see how you edited the sys for the car change. I can do that manually with the correct path etc..

So, I'm taking the 2 down now. If it fails to load up, I'll post back on this thread. MANY thanks for assisting so quickly.

No you won't see how I edited the program. So don't try editing anything yourself unless it's the path to your the program from your device. What's your resolution BTW? Take my word for it. It has everything you wrote about.

I am in Canada with need for North America full maps, POI and any other extras I can load into it. I like a female UK voice, so that's what is running now.

I download a 6 part RAR file called "[email protected]@p.Po!hnr.part(1 thru 6) a few weeks back and have that loaded also in there for the updated stuff as this stuff I got with the unit was clearly Australia based.. And the res on this is the usualy Chinese crap of 800 X 480. The set-up out of the box was good as display goes. I will paste the sys.txt info I currently have running. It's pretty sparse compared to yours in part 1.

I'm not really sure what you had in part 2 of these as when 1 came down and finished, it appeared as though it was complete. S, I have another 45 minutes to wait until the server will allow another crack at part 2

(MY sys.txt file running currently)

[rawdisplay]
driver="gdi"

resolution_dir="800_480"
vga=1

[rawdisplay]
highres=0
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

Pretty empty comparing the 2.

First of all, that map set is old. You want this one http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?11973-NNA-R3-maps-Q312 Secondly, do NOT mess with my sys.txt. Do not use the other one in its place. It's the one you want except for any entries that might be necessary for you because of your particular device. Thirdly, it's obvious that you didn't read or understand my program post or didn't read my 4 edits. If you had, you could have used the mirrors that I recommended to download. Either one of them are fast downloads [both parts of each] and there would have been NO waiting time between the two parts download.

Using the program "Winrar" [Google it for the download] you would extract the first part to a location on your computer while the second part automatically extracts as well. You need both parts for the complete download. There is no other way. Part 1 is not complete by itself.

Add map contents from the above link. FBL are maps and go into content\map. POIs go into content\poi.

In point of fact I DID read your edits regarding the mirrors. The issue was with script blocking and really bad file hosting choices, I was unable to get any of those mirrors to work.

In as much as WinRAR, yea, after 19 years as a network administrator, I fairly familiar with WinRAR.

And the maps I had just grabbed about 7 weeks ago (the one's I made reference to) can't be that old comaring version numbers to the ones you refereed to. And the fact the links/files are dead, makes that moot.

Zippyshare and upload.me program files links work fine. Maps have to be re-uploaded by me - links dead [that was fast]. Make sure you use my whole sys.txt as well as you might have to make additional edits for your device. You'll need it for TTS.
