help / advice needed updating car iGo navigation

Postby balosa » Sat May 14, 2016 1:12 pm

Hi all,

I am quite new to this forum but i am an experienced updater with TomTom's, the case is i now have an Car Navigation which needs to be updated, since i have hardly no experience with car updates i need some starters help, I already searched the forum but couldn't find the answers I was looking for, I hope someone can point me in the right direction over here.

This is what the info screen says :

Nav N Go
Navpa Navigation
8.3.5.193799 ( --> found on this forum its the following "Go Cruise (Aldi) PNA Australia)" )
May 27 2011
www.navi.com | @navi.eu

the SD card has a map Content with the following sub folders :
building
dem
lang
map
phoneme
poi
speedcam
userdata
voice

the files in the folder "map" are named liked this :
"Netherlands_83_HERE_2014.Q4_150302" .fda / .fbl / .ftr

I assume this is an iGo 8 version, now i would like to know what maps are supported for this version and how do I make them work on the car navigation?

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks in advance.

All the maps will work with the various versions of iGo.

It doesn't matter. Just replace the files you have with the new versions. However, you should back the old ones up just for safety.

Sometimes you need a new license file to use new maps.

Thanks for your response, I already copied some new maps to the map folder, but it didnt work, maybe the license file is the problem, how do I get the right one or should it be supplied with the new maps?

If you look in the About section, go to content / maps it will list the maps installed and show whether they are lacking a licence.
