#1 The Part 1 when downloaded from Directupload (mirror) actually is a larger file and is NOT a duplicate, whereas when downloaded from rapidshare, it is the same file. Don't know how this happened.

#2 Although I downloaded both and have copied onto the card, program will not run. It says "Program Database application cannot be found".

Should this be plug and play? Or is there something I need to modify?

Actually, database not found error is probably the easiest error to fix. I don't have your device in front of me so you're going to have to do the work here. I'll give you some ideas and then you'll have to figure out where to go from there. First, in an above post, I told you about the path to the program's .exe. That's what the error means. The program can't be found by your device.

I saw that there was a navigation icon on your device's screen. Without putting in the SD card, what happens when you press that icon? Is there a message? Is there an icon[s] that says system, options, settings - something like that where you can enter information? A typical path setting might be something like [example only] Storage card\iGO8\igo.exe. Now, SD cards can be named differently. Examples are Storage card, Storagecard, SD card, SDcard, SDMMC, etc. Your mission [if you accept it LOL] is to find out what your card is called. Name it improperly and it won't work. Check your user's manual.

You can also try this: Try re-naming the igo.exe to your gps.exe program that came with your device.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Hi Chas!
Sorry for the late reply. I havn't had time recently to work on the GPS.

I've got IGO8 to work! Your solution helped me, I followed everything in your answer post. Now, I have several follow up questions though.

1) My screen is TINY. My unit is supposed to be running 800x400 but IGO8 is only taking up the top left corner quarter.
2) Where can I find some POI's? I've tried downloading some but they are complete map files?

Thanks!

PS. Only dillemma I have is this- I love the graphics of Primo, but I love the smooth/non-lagginess of Igo8!

Then you need to add ALL the sys.txt entries in post #15 http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?7708-Help!-Installing-iGO-8.3-Picture-goes-all-white-and-rolls!&highlight=chas521

Two questions:

1) Is there a way I can make the names of the roads show up sooner? The names only show up when I'm about 500m away from them, and that isn't as useful as when I was on PRIMO where it would show the roads almost 1-3km away.

2) Where can I source some POI's for my region? (North America WESTERN REGION) I checked the Navitotal page only to find they are all rar'd into large files where I can't seperate the POI's from?

1. You can make sure that the map shows the upcoming turn by going through the options [settings]. You can also play with 2D or 3D and the +\- on the map to suit your needs. Remember that the signal has to go to the satellites and back again so that takes "some" time. Sorry but that's the way all navs work for now. The future, who knows?

2. Sorry, but the POIs are not separate. They are part of the map set. Maybe another member can do you a favor. BTW, you want TeleAtlas POIs [owned by TomTom but made for iGO].
