so hi guys im new and i got Novogo I905
and my software is igo more now my dad want igo primo wich is better so i have search in the forum and i found this one :

http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?7693-Primo-1.2-for-Isra%C3%ABl

i place it in the sd card and the program work well but the problem i dont have satellite reception (gps signal)

and im trying download this but the download not working to me:

Some PDA/Smartphones experience GPS signal loss issues with Primo 1.2/2.0.
If you find this to be a problem on your device, you can try the attached:

Primo Signal fix.zip

Unzip on your computer, copy the files/folders as shown onto your device/SD Card, and add to sys.txt the lines shown.
Restart the device, start Primo, and see if this fixes your issue.
Future skins may have this fix built in.

Please note that this manual fix is only for PDAs and Smartphones that experience erratic GPS signal problems. If you are not running Primo on a smartphone or PDA, and/or not experiencing signal issues, this fix is not for you. Not only may it not improve anything on other GPS devices, it could make things substantially worse if used incorrectly.

what can i do ?

sry for my bad english ...

First of all, getting a first signal can take a while. A long while sometimes. And your gps needs clear view to the sky with as little as interference as possible. Outdoors, no trees, no high buildings, ... Atmosperic conditions can interfere too. Just be patient. And forget signalfix.zip. Your PNA is no smartphone or PDA!

When the above doesn't work, what is the message that Primo gives? It can be "auto detecting gps", which means the gps settings in sys.txt are wrong (though Primo needs little sys.txt), OR "looking for satellites", which means the settings are correct but the device is searching and trying to lock.

This is the sys.txt in that download:
Code: Select all
[device]
type="navon_N480"

[gps]
port = 1
baud = 38400
maximise_baud= 0

[power]
backlight_manage_values=1
backlight_manage_keys=1
backlight_min=0
backlight_max=10
backlight_methods=20
backlight_day=100
backlight_day_battery=75
backlight_night=50
backlight_night_battery=25
backlight_tunnel=50
tunnel_backlight_enabled=1
powermgm_state=1

None of that may be appropriate for your device, and could cause issues.
I would suggest moving sys.txt from the SD Card to your PC, open it in Notepad, delete all the text in it, and copy it back to the SD Card in the same location.
Then delete the Save folder in the Primo folder, restart the device, start Primo and go through setup again. Go outside and see if you can get a satellite signal.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Whenever a GPS program starts (after being off for a while), yes, it must search for satellites.
As long as it finds them, that's normal.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Different programs can behave slightly different on different hardware.
It is possible that the OEM software on a particular device may be specially setup or 'tuned' specifically for that device hardware.
If your GPS port/baud rates were known, that info could be added to your sys.txt and it may speed up the detection of a GPS signal.
Then again, it might make no difference at all.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.
