HNR Files What are they and where do they go?

Postby RoadnTrail » Fri Jun 24, 2011 8:01 pm

Hi,

I just downloaded and extracted files for the iGO8. I noticed HNR files in it. What are they and where do they go? When adding maps, should I delete the old maps first?

Thanks

HNR files are the smart route files (only Navteq maps) for Primo only and go in the map folder.
Adding maps don't require deleting the old ones,, the newest maps are always used.

a small point on the hnr files ~ they are for western europe; will it create any conflicts if you only have 1 european country map in ur maps folder & also put the whole of western europe hnr files in the same folder?

It won't create any conflicts....the HNR files just won't work or do anything. For HNR to work, you have to have all of the map files for that region present and available to Primo.

What do you mean by "...all the map files for that region..."?
For example, if I want to travel from France to Italy through Switzerland, will it work if I put, only, France, Italy, Switz. TA maps and WE HNR files?

No, you will need all the WEU maps to make it work.
