How to always display more than one data field

How to always display more than one data field

Postby ljuba011 » Mon Jul 16, 2012 7:55 am

Question is related to Igo Primo ver. 2.0 - but believe that the same issue will be applicable to the other Igo's versions.

By default, only one data field is displayed in the bottom right corner, with or without route. To display more than one, you have to tap to this field and it will expand to three of them (you can choose which one from Visual guidance settings). Taping again to any of the data fields will suppress others and display only the selected one.

If you often have to make stops while driving, and regularly switch off your GPS device (because battery is weak), when you switch it on - it will again display map with only one data field. And you will continuously have to tap on data field to expand it - if that is what you want.

Question is, how to always display expanded selection?

With dimka skin you can have five data fields permanently open...

Even the GJbranding.zip leaves the 3 permanently open.

Are all 3 of them opened after you switch device off and then switch on again?

yes all 3 are still there after a hard reset. Even with a the standard branding.zip the 3 are still open after a reboot.

Well, that's not happening in my case, as explained in first post.

It seems that your suggestion is somehow related to the branding.zip, but I really don't have idea what exactly I should do. Any idea?

What is in your branding.zip?
Maybe you have a modified/customized version.
Copy branding.zip to your PC (don't use the copy on the device), and extract it.

This is the entire contents of the standard Primo2 branding.zip:
branding.ini

Of which, this is the entire contents of that single file:
[Branding]
<Navigation Software>="iGO primo"
<Web Address> | <Support E-mail>="www.nngglobal.com | [email protected]"
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

No, I did not modify anything. My branding.ini contains exactly what you described.

Good, then branding.zip is not the issue. That narrows it down a bit as to why others can 'permanently' display multiple info fields, but you cannot. My guess would be that either something else is/was modified in your installation (data.zip or other)...not necessarily by you, but it depends where you got your version from...or some other skin is running (again, maybe not by your choice) and/or settings are not being saved when Primo is shutdown?

If all else fails, see here:
Primo2-Repair-Kit
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Ok.

Let me wait for few days, to see if there is any other clue. If not - I'll try your repair kit, as explained. Of course, I'll get back with the results.

To get back on this.

I followed every single step from Primo2Repair Kit (thanks for great works YT) and result is that all 3 data field now remain expanded. And I noticed some other minor differences - related to visual look of the maps. Now they are prettier in overview mod, which lead me to conclusion that I used to have customized version of Primo 2.0. Now it's cleared.

But, there is always but. It works without skin. If Gjak 1.08 skin is in use (which is my favorite) than again data field are always reduced to single data information. And you don't need to switch device off and on to see it reduces from 3 to 1 - it happens if you tap menu button and then you get back to show map.

Now this question probably should be addressed to the skin mastermind - however maybe somebody will have idea about this issue :7:

Glad to hear at least some of your problem is solved.
ljuba011 wrote:I used to have customized version of Primo 2.0

Yup, you probably did. There are many such 'modified' versions out there, and though the authors may mean well, inevitably something goes wacky with something somewhere (and is very hard to track down exactly because so much was changed). Better to start UNmodified, and then add or change what you want.
On the off-chance that your Gjak skin may also have been diddled with, try the standard version from here:
Primo-2.0-Skins

Well, sorry I can't help you with the GJ skin as I don't use it (prefer diMka for many reasons). I tried the GJAK before posting it just to make sure it worked, but I did not keep it long enough to play with or test every option.
Maybe another user knows a 'special setting' or something for that skin.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.
