iGO 8.3.5.183522

In my older non-HD IGO8 .sys it shows the lines as

[folders]
;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8.3.2"

So should I just change the IGO8 to IGO8.3.5

As you have learned by reading, application database not found, means that the device cannot find the program. This is a not serious error message. I would try different editing but start with this one first:

[folders]
;app="%SDCARD%/iGO8"

iGO8 is the name of the folder.

I'll start tomorrow morning by changing the 2nd line to

IGO8.3
IGO8.3.5
IGO8.5

I'l also play with adding ; to the beginning of the line.

Maybe one of the above will work.

You don't have to do trial and error in fixing the error message "Program application database cannot be found". This simply means igo cannot find the data.zip (or it's equivalent expanded data.zip). By default, igo looks for the data.zip file on the same folder where the igo executable is (e.g., igo.exe or igo8.exe, etc.) unless there is an override on the sys.txt [folders] section. If there is an app=<folder-location> entry on sys.txt [folders] section, that is where igo will look for the data.zip. Simply put the data.zip on the same location as the igo executable and remove completely the sys.txt [folders] section.

Put everything else (content (map,poi,etc)) on the same folder location as the igo executable and igo should work fine using the default folder.

Well playing around with it, it did load, but the screen is about 1/3 the proper size and cut off.

This is what my .sys folder looks like and I have it set for 800x480. What else should I be looking at?

You need both sys.txt entries http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?7708-Help!-Installing-iGO-8.3-Picture-goes-all-white-and-rolls!&highlight=chas521 post #15.

That did the trick. Guess when comparing .sys files didn't realize it.

Is there anyway to reduce the street font sizes on the screen. Just a little to big for me.

Also, I need to add custom icons (cars). Going to read what I need to do as I had them on my older IGO8 and was a lot cooler than the arrow.

to reduce font size, add to sys.txt

[interface]
mapfontscale=200; play with the number to get what you want

cars - do a search for kimyaci

Huh?

Added the

mapfontscale=200;

to my [interface] and changed the font to 100 and 50 but no change with the street name font size.

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
shutdown_time=0
defaulttilt3d=7600
vga=0
resolution_dir="800_480"
mapfontscale=50;

50 or 100 no good, try 150. Remember to delete the save folder every time you change something.

Even no change with 150

mapfontscale=150;

Even deleting the Save folder just reset some items, but no change on font size.

Hmmm! That is the correct entry to change the map font size in iGO8 - my post #22. Don't know why it's not working. Should.

Not the worst thing if I can't change it.

Maybe the interface needs to have it's own line and not part of the other interface info?

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
show_exit=1
shutdown_time=0
defaulttilt3d=7600
vga=0
resolution_dir="800_480"
mapfontscale=150;

I did look in the Save folder and saw this in the system folder.

[sound]
os_volume="255"

If I change the 255 to 300 or higher would the nav voice be louder?

Try this for font size also:

[3d_config]
roadsign_lines_per_screen=25 ;(larger number means smaller text)

No, 255 means highest.
