I was able to get the dimkamegaduck 1.1.43 skin.

I placed it unrar within .sys skin folder and deleted the save folder.

When going back into the system it wasn't there. Only the default skin and kikker 3.2 skin was there.

Just also tried the 1.1.47 skin and the same thing.

Neither one shows up on the screen to change. Only the default and kikker 3.2 skin.

And I still don't see the option to change for cars.

Is it possible that you installed the Dimka skin incorrectly?

All I did was copy/paste it into the Skin folder where the other skins are. (kikker3.2).

Did I need to do anything else?

When looking at the skins they are quite large 10megs compared to the kikker skin at 746kb.

Yes. Let me download it and I'll guide you.

Did you mean you extracted (unzipped) the skin?
If so, you don't do that. Put the zip file in the Skin folder.

Open up the .rar file and you see the dimka.zip file. That goes into content\skin. Scroll down the page for the cars.

EDIT: YT beat me.

Ah the adventure continues.

I found the zip folder within the rar folder and was able to get the skin working.

And I was able to change the arrow to the standard car (mini cooper in red). But when hitting the button for other cars it said please wait, but nothing happened.

Now this is real strange, the maps changed to teleatlas from Navteq as per screen. How is that possible if I only changed the skin? (checking the map folder, it still shows Navteq).

There is NO way for the maps to change without you pressing or doing something other than just changing the skin. You might need to delete the save folder again. Delete the TA maps from content\map but BACK them up first. Also did you shutdown your device after installing the skin, wait a few seconds and then re-start?

Did the delete save folder. The map folder shows all Navteq, so not sure why the screen says Teleatlas, but whatever.

In the meantime, it's looking good. Just would like to change the mini-cooper, but the cars aren't loading. I have the 3d cars folder in it's own folder on the card.

I will say that there are alot more options to play with with the Dimkamegaduck skin than before. Real cool.

Thanks

The only problem that I don't think I can fix is the dual zone. I think the shop when wiring the system up might have crossed some wires. When the nav voice comes on it cuts out the radio all on speakers instead of just the front while the radio still plays in the back. Plus the voice isn't as loud as my other system that was dual zone. I could live without dual zone, but just wish a could raise the nav voice volume a little).

I did change what you recommended from 10 - 14...but no change. Not sure how high I should go?

I can't help you with the wiring thing but don't make any higher changes in the gain. It will be your luck for it to come on and blow your speakers. I'm just wondering if the volume problem has something to do with the wiring also. If YT comes back here, maybe he can post.

Look at post #38 about cars.

Read #38 and changed the .sys to look like this

[3dcar]
work_dir="\SD Card\iGO8" location of 3dCars folder
mortscript="\SD Card\iGO8\3DCars\Themechanger\MortScript.exe" ;location of MortScript.exe

I get the Please wait....but no car library pops up.

Where is the 3D Cars folder?

Along side the other folders

3Dcars
Audio
Backup
Content
Custom

and so on.

I suspect your device calls your SD card something other than SD Card, check and amend the sys.txt entries.
