Can iGo Primo or iGo8 be run on one of these cheap ebay satnav's like an xgody ?

I see that you can get a 128MB/8GB unit for around £35 (ebay #382152431491) or 256MB/8GB for around £44 (ebay # 272519421180) - has anybody done that ? Any info or thoughts much appreciated.

Most of the cheap Xgody's come with Primo nowdays I think, last one I set up for someone was about 2 months ago & it came with Primo 2.4.
Older ones came with iGO8.
I've used WinCE Xgody devices without any issues.
256 MB RAM is definately better.

Hi I run one of these Xgody units and I think they are brill.
I have got mine running Igo Primo with Tomtom map UK 2017.03
with no problems so far.I can update it anytime I wont off this site.
I hope your Xgody works as good has mine.

Do you still have your XGODY gps? I was playing around with my one (XGODY 7" 128MB/8GB) and I have modified the SYS.TXT file and now the satelite connection takes veeery long time.
I don't know what have I done (didn't backup original SYS.TXT file)
Please, can you send me the content of your SYS.TXT file?

I edited the above post to remove from iGO8's sys.txt the following from the [2d] section:

I had a customised cursor/arrow with a navline pointing out in front of it, if iGO8 is used with that setting in sys.txt but without the modded daycar & nightcar .bmp's & their corresponding modded .spr files, the cursor would probably not be even on the screen

Hi, I have same cheap chinese sat nav. Currently with IGO 8, can I use any other maps at all ? The map which is in the sd card is from 2011, I have to find a way to upgrade to newer one.

Save a backup of your device and sd card before trying anything.
It should then be just a matter of replacing the old map file (.fbl) with the newer one, which is usually found searching this site.

I also have one of these cheap Chinese sat nav's, its a Floureon (128mb/8gb, winCE6). It worked well with Igo Primo, but getting sat fix was intermittent . I was able to run navigon flawlessly on it though. Maps are easy to replace with Primo .
