Hi all
I have been a tomtom user for 10 years so know my way around them ok.I have just bought a 7 inch Chinese gps with reverse camera.
I have a few questions .
1 how can I check if the maps are up to date.
2 Can I use my tomtom poi s in this unit if so where do I put them.
3 I have a personalized car for my position I use in tomtom is it possible to use this i have plugged the device into my pc and can see lots of cars there but dont know how to use them.
4 will i ever be able to sort this new unit out

Sorry! I must have missed seeing the iGO name part.

1. Check here to see if we have the most current maps posted from our library. Some areas are not updated as much as the more popular places. Drive around and see if the ones you have cover your route[s].

2. TomTom is a Linux-based device while your new device is Windows-based. So no to the POIs.

3. I'm not completely sure about using a personalized car but I would look into the Kimyachi [not sure I spelled that correctly - doing from memory] car collection.

4. Sure. It only takes doing it.

another few questions how where do I put music and pictures do I just make a folder and put then in there.Its so much easier with a tom tom but I like the large screen and the price.And the wireless reversing cam work perfect.

Music and pictures can go anywhere on the device and iGO will find them, You can set up dedicated folders for them if iGO picks up unwanted music and picture files as well.

Still cant sort out a personalized position icon,
What are skins and how do i use them
I have no options on daylight or night colour schemes what do I need please.

iGO uses 3D models of cars for your position so it's not as easy as using a bitmap image like Tomtom, That said however there are loads available so you should get something close to what you need, The car files (.zip) go into ..\content\car\ select them in map settings, The day/night colour settings are here as well.

Skins change the look and feel of iGO and can also add new features, these also end in .zip and go into ..\content\skin\ Make sure you get skins that are suitable for your build of iGO. Select them in the display settings

You can call me thick if you like but i downloaded car files,and a skin but they are not in display settings the skin is grayed out and there is no mention of cars or how to change the icon.

Confirm the files are in the right folders as listed above and are still zip archives.

See I told you I was thick I unzipped the files.I did not have a folder/cars or /skins in content so I made them is that ok I will delete the unzipped files and put in the zipped file and see what happens.

In Primo, under Content, The CAR (no "s") folder already exists. Put any additional files (zipped) in there. SKIN (again, no "s"), may not exist. Create it.

Ok thanks for all your help I have downloaded a skin and that has also allowed me to change position icon one problem solved,however
I only have 2 voices available to use but in content/voices I can see lots of zipped files.
