igo help for eonon d5151 unit

Postby shaunUK26 » Mon Jul 28, 2014 7:39 am

Good morning

I've downloaded the igo maps for my car unit but the unit will only accept exe format to run. All the software I've download are Apk format. Any idea what needs to be done

Thanks

The APK format is for Android devices only while your is Windows. APK won't work

I ASSUME you're referring to the global_cfg file?
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

Did you download only an exe file? This is just part of what you need.
The files of the application should be inside a folder named "iGO", that should contain folders and files beside the igo8.exe.

Look at the "igo8-183522" thread for full package.
DO NOT unzip zip files (data.zip, branding.zip, global_cfg.zip, voice files, lang files) found within the pakage, copy them as is.

I think you may understand that I am lost here. It works, it doesn't work.
Do not unpack language and voice files. Put the lang.zip in /content/lang and the voice.zip file in /content/voices. Delete the save folder and by starting up, you should be invited to set up the program and choose the language, voice and more.

If you ask me, he is using something downloaded from other site, he didn't use the link in post #5. This package does not contains Romanian lang nor Romanian voice, only English.

Here is an English package (voice & language) for you:
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.
Password: www.navitotal.com
Copy the files to /content/lang/ and to /content/voice/
Use the programs menu to change to English (3 steps):

You are 100% right. I did wonder where the Romanian came from but was stupid enough not to think deeper. :tease:
That the download is from another source makes help more difficult. There is no guarantee these programs work correctly and in fact, Navitotal gives no support to such software.
