IGO PRIMO 9.6.5.220394 (PHILIPS CED780) WINCE HELP

Postby gpsdude247 » Thu Jun 19, 2014 11:30 pm

Hi,

My PHILIPS CED780 car dvd unit came with IGO PRIMO 9.6.5.220394 WINCE. Can anyone guide me on how to use the latest maps and add speedcams on this official build. I have tried IGO PRIMO 2.4 9.6.13 and had good results. I just cannot get the sound working and it keeps shutting. It may be shutting down due to too many licenses, but I haven't got a clue how to fix the sound.

Can anyone help please?

I believe that the secret lies in the data.zip and I doubt if the 9.6.5 data.zip (yours) is compatible with 9.6.13. Anyway, try it. It might help.

If not, ask mikyhouse55 (PM him) if he can provide a copy of a cured 9.6.5. Then restore the original 9.6.5 and replace the exe file and the license folder. That did the trick in the old days (iGO8.3) and might do it in Primo as well.

I would like to add that you may need to also delete the save folder.

thanks milkyhouse55, its working great, you are legend! I have fda files with the maps and turned on alerts in settings, but its not showing speed cams on my journey, any idea why it is not? also, when it give directions, it mutes the radio or music which is really annoying. anyway to hear both or even a setting to lower the volume rather than mute it?

FDA files are driver alerts, not speedcams.

Hi guys, I'm having trouble with my CED780 using igo 8 and primo, I have tried various versions, different cards, maps, POI files, global config?? files. It just seems to crash any time after 10 seconds loading, although it rarely crashes on a menu. Makes me think it may be memory related.

Does anyone have a version specific to this device?

many thanks =)

How much content do you have starting with the programs?

How much memory does your device have, 64mb/128mb?

Start the program the first time only with the base map, no maps, poi's, buildings, dem etc.

Thanks for your quick replies.

I have tried not enabling the POI's and stuff, but copying everything over stock as a rock sounds like a good idea. I'll give that a crack first thing and let you know how I go.

Do you guys think I should try and find a version as close to 9.6.5.220394(or whatever the version that philips sells) as I can? Or stick to latest and greatest?

edit: haven't the foggiest on the RAM. Any way of finding out?

Run this utility on your device:
This board requires you to be registered and logged-in to view hidden content.

Extract it to a folder on your device or SDcard, and run the "WinCE Device Information.exe". It will give you the needed values (memory, resolution etc.) and more.
Password: www.navitotal.com

Not enabling the POI's and stuff is not good enough, since while the program loads, all the data is loaded into the memory. Delete the content from the folders, if any (building, dem, map, poi).

Primo is using more memory than iGO8 since its using/giving more options.

Just tried the device information, it also crashes after loading, before the ok button appears. I've noticed that the permissions of the program are set to read only, is this meant to be the case?
