Igo Primo 2.4.0 v9.6.13.263722

Postby chas521 » Fri Jan 18, 2013 10:46 pm

I used the same map sets [exactly] on my iGO8 and Primo 1.1 and they were perfect. The exact same map sets on Primo 1.0, 1.2 and 2 were giving me incorrect turns. So I respectfully disagree.

I needed to download two versions of Primo so I can use the TTS. Still in the process. I'll take it on the street tomorrow and check it out. I also need to modify it for my unlock to work properly. Look here tomorrow.

As I was saying that the combination of another software build with the same Navteq maps results in different routing, the same statement as yours with different primo builds, I ask myself what you disagree with :confused::confused:

I tested Primo 2.4 today and I must report that it still had me make unnecessary turns but not everywhere. My iGO8 program, Amigo, Primo 1.1 and Garmin XT were just fine and no unnecessary turns. However 2.4 is pretty so I think that I'll keep it on my SD card. It will just be a #5 nav for me. Now mpourdas, where can I find you??!

What do you mean everywhere, that would be too much right? :) I guess you say it behaves somewhat better than 2.0.

Where can I get 1.1? Here? http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?5500-November-Primo-1.1-from-my-device

This is unclear. It still makes (some) unnecessary turns, but it became your #5. So, you want to find me for a good or for a bad reason?

First of all, you know that I'm kidding about finding you. I hope that unnecessary turns are the worst thing that happens to me in life.

1. When I say not everywhere, it didn't happen all the time when I was trying the program. It happened at the same point as 1.0, 1.2 and 2.0. Three right turns instead of making the left to begin with. It occurs right near my house so I make the left anyway and then it recalculates OK after that.

2. That is the correct link for my 1.1.

3. 2.4 is not the worst. It still got me to where I was needing to be. It's just that iGO8 is more dependable.

Of course I know you are kidding. OK, then for this particular issue it seems there is no improvement compared to 2.0. Or, the improvement is partial and it just gives unneeded turns in fewer places. I do not remember the exact conditions under which I had faced the problem, but if it still exist in places in my city, it will happen again some day soon. Of course the discussion starts to be "academic", since we all know the places close to our homes, and in any case even with a small detour, and as you say, it will get us where we want to.

Dear chas521, I was wrong in the first place. I met this unnecessary turn thing with Primo 2.4, but eventually I realized it is for a different reason. Simply the (navteq) maps view a particular street as one-way (instead of two-way which is the correct) and thus force me to do a detour. Of course even primo 1.1 shows the same detour, since it is just a map problem. There is another place where I had this problem, I have not gone there yet, but I suspect the answer...

Of course I believe your own experience. It is just that mine was a different problem and had nothing to do with what you encounter. Sorry...

PS : The thing for me ended up in trying 1.1 and I realized how slow 2.4 is. But I do not like so much its graphics (and dimka is a bit primitive for 1.1), this is why I am looking for 1.2 (cf. the other post). But I stop here, in order not to go off topic

Hello;
I've purchased a Wayteq 960BT recently;
could someone help me with some installation instructions for the building files; and a version of Igo Primo that suports them.
I've tried installing IGO Primo 2.0, it works fine with the 'dem' file, yet the buildings won't show up.
Is there a version that suports bouth the 'dem' file and the buildings for Europe for example?
And do the building files work only with a certain release of the maps?
Thanks in advance;
Eugen.

Building files work in all versions of Primo and with all maps. You need (of course) the correct files in content/building folder and the building view enabled. DEM is only a demographic file (mountains, hils, river, ocean, ...) and is placed in content/dem folder.
However, buildings are only visible in more important cities, not all cities are covered. And all features enabled needs a powerful device.

Oh, is there a reason for posting in this old thread? Why not opened a new one? And did you use the search function, which could have help you quicker?
