Igo Primo Android Chinese 2 Din Settings Problems

Sun Jun 09, 2013 8:47 am

I received a 2 Din entertainment unit for my Smart car last week. Its running Win CE 6 for radio, Bluetooth, dvd etc and android 4.0 for GPS.
I have two major issues with maintaining settings made in both Android and Igo Primo (9.6.7.235654)

I set both time and location in Android for my region (Australia) and as soon as I turn the car off those settings are lost. Additionally any setting changes made in Igo primo (time, measurement units, voice, car etc) are not saved once the car is turned off. Also, when I start the GPS the initial map is always Paris.

I found a ‘licenses’ menu in Igo (Navigation menu/more/settings/ about/Licenses). There is a License for Igo Myway Western Europe (not Australia). Also in this ‘about’ menu are other sub menus in addition to ‘Licenses’ (credits, content, legal, SWID, Statistics, Network statistics).

I don’t know what the problem is as the GPS does find maps for my area but doesn’t keep any of the settings after the car has been switched off. Has anyone got any ideas of what the problem might be and how to fix?

Thanks.

As long as you see the Australian map, I think it's not a license issue.
Do you have access to the program/content folders? Make a backup of your "save" folder (in root folder), and then delete it. Restart the program, you will have to setup your basic settings again, but (hopefully) it should fix your problem.
If this will not help, can you post here your sys.txt file content?
What version of Australia map are you using?

Thanks for your reply. Followed your instructions, however system wouldnt mount the SD card. Tried a few variations ie kept sub directories in save folder but card still not recognised. Went back to original and card still not recognised. So my problems are now considerably worse. Program wont even start. Hope you can help.

You wrote "Went back to original", do you mean that you copied back the original "save" folder? As far as I know, removing it should not effect the way the program works, only need to set again the basic settings (lang, voice, mode [simple/advanced]).

In your sys.txt there is an entry:
[folders]
linked_root_list="/mnt/sdcard/NavGear"

Can you confirm that this is the correct route to you SDcard and folder?

'Back to original' means I copied the back up 'save' folder back onto the card, so essentially it was the same as it was before I did anything. However its now not being mounted by the system. How do I confirm the correct route to the SD card? where do I find this?

Can you connect the SDcard to a PC using an external device (card reader)?
Try to locate what is inside this folder/subfolder (NavGear)?
Where is the program, is it on the device itself or on the SDcard? Where are the other content (maps, poi's etc)?

Root folders/files are as follows:
iGO, LOST.DIR
(folders under iGO) Content, License, save, branding, data. ( files are) igo_thin.apk, sys.txt

I'm pretty sure that program is on the device.

I can't see the reason why removing the "save" folder cause the card being not recognised by the app.
Please wait for more experienced member to reply.

Unless you exit the program properly using "exit" from the program and NOT just shutting off the device or car you will get errors as your options will not be properly saved!

Assuming I can get the program working again... how do you properly exit from the program?
Also, can you help me fix my problem that the card is no longer being recognised?
Please help.

I apologize if I was not clear enough.
When I wrote "Make a backup of your "save" folder (in root folder), and then delete it", I meant to delete the content of this folder (including sub-folders), not the folder itself (that can be done in some circumstances too).
Deleting this content should not cause any problem other than set up the basic setting again.
Try to empty the folder and restart your program.

Thanks again but unfortunately it didnt work. So I cant even open the program now. Any other suggestions??????

When you say it has Android for GPS, is this like a tablet, ie, it has a home screen, file explorer and you can install/uninstall apps etc?

Yes, thats right...its a double din in dash system that has Android 4.0. When you press the Navigation button it starts Android and then you can choose Igo. You can install and unistall programs....I've got wifi which does work but havent added any Android programs (it has about 20 included).

I'll try another thing.
You have an entry in your sys.txt - [folders]

Please add the following line to it:
has_secondary_root=1

If it does not help, delete the line already there (linked_root_list="/mnt/sdcard/NavGear") and leave only the above line.
