Go into Android settings/Storage, find the SD card and see if the mount option is available.

You should always unmount the SD card before removing it otherwise you may corrupt it.

If the mount option is not available you may have to reboot Android, on older wince units this involved disconnecting the power completely.

As stated, you may have to disconnect the car battery!

Thanks. Have disconnected and reconnected the power but SD card still not being recognised. Option to mount in Android settings is also greyed out. Any other ideas?

There is no error message. When I click on the Igo app it asks me to load the SD card. I do that and nothing happens. When it was working it would show the card had mounted.

You have an entry in your sys.txt - [folders]

Please add the following line to it:
has_secondary_root=1

If it does not help, delete the line already there (linked_root_list="/mnt/sdcard/NavGear") and leave only the above line.

I cant really try this until I can get the system to recognise the card unless this is a way to get the card recognised. Let me know. thanks.

Can you mount a different SD card, ie newly formatted in fat32?

Try a factory reset of Android, this should be in the Android settings somewhere, if it still won't recognise any SD card a reflash of Android might fix it, if not, or you can't get the ROM files then you will have to contact the seller as it could be a hardware problem.

The system gave me two options 'reset' and 'reboot'. I chose reboot as reset said it wipes all data which I assumed would be all the apps. Unfortunately the reboot brought the system back up in Chinese! My original problem was the system wasnt keeping settings. Annoying but not a disaster. Then the system stopped reading the SD card for navigation and now everything is in Chinese and I cant see Igo at all. So I've gone from bad to worse to disastorous! (at least the radio still works!). Not sure what you mean by a 'reflash' of Android but doubt I will be able to do that now because there is no English.

This might not be a bad thing...

Getting English back is the first task...

On Android the system language is under

Settings/Language and input/Language

Try using an online translator to convert 'language' into Chinese to help with menu navigation.

Once back into English see if the card can be mounted.
