Hello everybody,

› Frecvency GPS : 1575.42MHz
› Sensibility : -157 dBm
› Modul GPS: (NXP GNS4540)

- I ran IGO 8.3 on this device without problerms;
- I wanted to upgrade;
- I downloaded and installed according to the instructions the:
iGo-Primo 2.4 9.6.13 Complete--Torrent Started by Yurbuh Tuggly, 01-16-2013 07:57 AM

It workes generally fine but I have two problems:

1. If I press Historical Traffic option (it could happen even by mistake) the device simply shuts down. Completely. It does not go to Windows, it simply shuts down.

2. I installed the TTS voices according to the instructions. I go to the menu and select the TTS voice I desire. I hear the voice confirmation of the selection. The TTS voice actually speaks and confirms that it was selected. When I hit the back button to exit the Voice menu the device shuts down.

Thank you very much for any help on these matters

Best regards,
Alex

Your internal memory is too low to have TTS working, possibly to have history traffic running as well.
Also 2.4 is very new and has flaws that need to be sorted out. That will take some time. Newer 2.4 will run better. We have seen that in the past with early iGO8 crashing all the time.
With 64 MB, like your device, it's best to stick to 8.3. You can try Primo, but that will be the basic Primo, with few eye "candy"

I am using iGo Primo 2.4 Build 9.6.13.267029 and at times when I set up a route to a destination the software comes up with a Preview / Dismiss option screen - sometimes when I select the Preview option it / primo crashes and reboots the GPS - This rebooting never seems to happen if I select the Dismiss option

Any ideas as to fix it

It does sound like a memory issue, can you access the WinCE control panel?

\windows\control.exe

Open System, Go to the memory tab and check the slider is fully to the left.

Apologies for resurrecting a nearly dead thread, but I have something to add.

I have a 128MB Head Unit running WinCE 6. It's seemingly worked okay with iGo 8 and iGo Primo from Dec 2011, although I'm a tad apprehensive at the moment, I'm worried perhaps that it's playing up :(
I figured I'd put the newest version of iGo on from 2012. It's very very buggy it seems or the Head Unit is packing up :girl_cray: I really hope it's not the Head Unit as it looks great in my car. Also, it means that my previous Head Unit (which was from same brand) has actually lasted longer as it's still perfect and works great (removed it because it didn't fit properly)!

Anyway, the first thing that happened was this morning as I was typing in the name of the Destination the WinCE randomly rebooted? The second time I was driving and it just randomly rebooted. There was probably over an hour or two between the reboots. I don't think it's an overheating issue or anything like that, so I'm fairly confident it's just a software issue.

I will use IGo Primo from 2011 tonight and do a full trip with it, to see if I experience any issues. If I do, my head unit might be on the way out... which means having fun with the warranty... yeah right

Yesterday, I reinstalled 2.4 on my device, but I haven't roadtested it yet. Not even on a short trip (I won't plan a long one in short term either :( ).

On a certain forum I read a short review of a truck driver about the Primo 2.4. On the plus side, he was very pleased with 2.4 because the routing was a great improvement (for him as trucker). On the downside 2.4 was very buggy. I can't remember the exact words or even if it was crashing or restarting (think so it did) or ...
His hope was that a new build would solve the bugs (crashes?).
In short, even with the bugs, he is in favor of 2.4 above "older" builds..

Thus when using iGO/Primo the device acts flawless, you at least have a second opinion that acknowledge your findings ;)

The problem is that routing is subjective. While that truck driver was probably satisfied with his route, I know for a fact most Sat Navs try to take me to work using the supposedly 'fastest' route, which in essence, isn't that much faster (maybe a few minutes quicker) but is 4-5 more miles. If the iGo was on top of that, it would consider the few minutes saved not really worth it and decide the saving on fuel would be more beneficial. It actually does have this ability if I choose the Alternative Route option, but it's not perfect.

We'll find out later whether this is a bug or whether my Head Unit is packing up. In truth, I doubt it's the head unit, but we'll see. Perhaps I'll write a review on here one day, because it's unlike any other China HU you've seen.

Switched back to iGo Primo from Dec 2011. Works perfectly, not a single crash. Me thinks that 2.4 is buggy.

Although I do need to open a thread about something else :)

I have the*.spc files + license. I know it works on Igo8. Do you want to check it on Primo?
