As long as you can get an Internet connection to the unit it should work.

IGO does not care what you use to get Internet.

Ok here is how its done, instructions courtesy of Skezza

Open up your sys.txt file in Notepad. At the bottom, you need to add this, in it's entirety:

[http]
enabled=1

[naviextras]
boot_service_address="http://zippy.naviextras.com/services/index/rest/2/boot"

[network]
available=1

[services]
server_addr="https://sqa.dev.naviextras.com/mobile/service"
channel="winmo"
device_type="iGO Primo"
brand="Nav N Go"
product_brand="Nav N Go"
product_model="iGO Primo"
naviextras_silent=1

[tmc-http]
enabled=1
start=1
dt_dl_0=120.0
dl_dist_0_km=500.0
servers.size=1
servers[0].url="http://zippy.naviextras.com/services/tmclite/data/nng-igo-tmc-iphone/0/"

Just a quick explanation, the first part enables the HTTP part of iGo, without this, it won't work. The second and third part (naviextras + services) is for Google Local search and other Online related functions. This is optional, and if you don't want it, leave it out, but I find it useful and it's probably faster than searching the unit itself!

The fourth part is the main meal. If you're in the USA or a large country, you might want to consider increasing the size of the distance downloaded. I set it to 500km which is 310 miles, pretty much most of England lol! That said, downloading Traffic Data doesn't require much as it's all just textual, so I could increase that to cover the entire UK. Just remember though, by the time you've driven 310 miles, the traffic incident will have probably happened, been cleared up and everyone gone home lol! Don't alter the server address, including the part about 'iphone'.

One thing I have noticed which is not really a problem but wonder if you can confirm if you get the same.

If I click on the Traffic Icon from the map screen then select to view incidents that are current, I get a list of incidents from closest to me to furthest. If I then click on one of these incidents to try and open it up, my system crashes and reboots !!

No. I don't get this issue, which version are you using? When I click an event it opens up a Map where the incident has occurred with a traffic marker for the particular type of incident. Will take a photo later today to demonstrate.

The only time I've had an issue with traffic was on 2.4, sometimes it would reboot the system if I clicked the on Current Traffic menu. If you're on 2.4, I suggest reverting back to 2.0 for the time being ;)

2.4 is buggy. I won't be using it for a long time as I have had nothing but crashes and problems. I'm not convinced that the routing is that much better either. If you use 2.0 you will have a much better experience. I've attached a photo of a Traffic incident as selected by me :)

Selected the top one.

Hi, I have read this thread with interest. I have a [Please Register or Login to download file] unit. I have loaded iGo-Primo 2.4-9.6.13 which works well (it is a bit buggy, but the prospect of re-doing it all with an older version makes me sweat!). This unit is not wifi or bluetooth prepared on the wince side. I am really interested in getting real time traffic working on this GPS. How did you guys get wifi working? did your units come from the supplier with wifi drivers and wifi usb supplied? I have found [Please Register or Login to download file] I don't mind paying $40 but if it is a simple job of installing the right device drivers then I would prefer to go it alone! I want to tether to a Nokia 820 Wp8 phone via wifi, I don't know if you can do the same via bluetooth?. I do not want to change the simple process of hitting Navi on the unit to get to GPS, nor do I want to have to go through any pairing/connecting process on every trip.

Thank you in advance for your advise/experience on this.

David

Unfortunately, Live Traffic stopped working for me yesterday. I have a feeling they caught onto what we were doing and have disabled the server's response for WinCE devices. A shame. It's one of the reasons I wanted to keep the details private to PM only, but too many people over the Internet have published them and now they don't seem to work anymore. I imagine it'll be a while before we get it working again unfortunately.

I have a feeling the server went down this weekend. It's back up on mine, working perfectly. :7:

skezza or any other live traffic user

maybe you can answer my question...i have igo primo2.4 (seems stable), no wifi. I am considering applying wince patch, to get wifi working on my eonon5150 (ce6) unit. the only reason i would do this it to get live traffic details to re-route and or show me delays on the current planned route. Can you confirm how well live traffic works with igo. I have used a live traffic tomtom and have been very impressed with its accuracy, does the wifi enabled live traffic on igo achieve this and can you dynamically re-route around a delay, if the nav software finds a quicker way?

Thanks for any help

Cheers

How do we know if we can get WiFi on our Unit's. Is there a way to tell if WiFi hardware is already on it because I'm not sure. Can we add a USB WiFi dongle to the USB plug will that work?
Do we have to PATCH our units? Is there a way to tell if our units need patched before buying a dongle.
I found this link is this guy patching his?

Not sure if this has been asked before.

I have a Chinese double din with a Nowada 2450 board. I have IGO primo running perfectly. I recently installed a 3G card so now the Windows CE unit also has internet access.

Is there a way that I can get live traffic to work with IGO ? Also what is this FM transmitter menu option in Igo Primo ?

Thanks
