igo primo on michelin X960

Postby l'ambulant » Mon Aug 04, 2014 8:47 pm

hi,

i'm running an old michelin X960.
i've installed igo primo on it & it starts well till a window " map file not found".
the only way is to click "OK", & igo runs till the end of starting.
of course, i have maps in the map folder ! !
that's my 1st problem !
i can drive through the different Windows of igo primo, with no map on the screen
the 2nd is when i have click on map , there is on the top your device is off, and just by it, a button " turn gps on"
when i click "autodetection" turns on, but always in vain.
i'm pretty sure that it comes from my "sys.txt" file at the root of the SDcard.
it's the original from michelin.
i have another one in the primo file
but i don't know what to put in.
can someone help me please?

many thx

The errors you encounter are very strange. Are the maps installed Primo maps?
You are not telling us any useful/needed information at all. What if you started telling us about your sys.txt?
What is in it and why are there two?
And what Primo build did you install?

Did you read this first?
general-discussions-about-igo-core-f87/how-install-igo-primo-viamichelin-x960-t4940.html?hilit=x960#p34483 ?

yes, i've read what's on the link.
the maps are in the map folder.
i have an "info_SD.txt" at the root of the SD card, not a sys.ttxt file ! ! ! !
the sys.txt is in the "installSD" file.
i use igo primo 2.0
for the satelite fix, it's ok now, i've changed the values of [gps] port=1 & baud=4800

Go to...

More -> Help -> About -> More -> Content -> Maps

Do they show up here? Is there an error message?

i've found it at last !!!
in content, i don't see anything about maps.
i have 3D buildings, intelligent way, places, 3D monuments, alert points, TMC, highway exit view
and à back button at the left bottom of the screen.
to be sure, the file must be named "map" & not "maps", and be placed in the "installSD" file?
nowhere else?

There are no plurals in the content folder, the folder containing the maps must be called Map

~\content\map\***.fbl

the spdb is your speedcam database, compiled from the txt file ;)

I don't know what is on your sd.
In the content folder - I suppose that is on the sd - you could erase all maps not really needed, languages, voices and themes not needed, all car cursors not needed, all maps not needed, all 3dl and 3dc files when you don't need 3Dview, DEM when you don't need to see the landscape - lakes - mountains, all TTS files and voices and just use the normal voice(s), All ftr when you don't drive truck or caravan or mobilhome, TMC files and loose TMC, skins, POI, ....

More difficult and easy to crash again the program, one could "clean out" the data.zip and erase non used resolutions, and non used device.ini's.

Or try a bigger sd.

it seems very hard now to find a 4Gb sd plaincardat an attractive price.
between 15 & 25 € without shipping !!
when i want to change the txt speedcam database, do i have to erase the spdb file,
to generate a new one when i turn it on ?
or does the device update the old spdb file with the new datas ?

Delete all files in the speedcam folder. Place the speedcam.txt file in the folder, start your device and iGO/Primo will create a new spdb and spud file from it.
