If you make a backup of the save folder, you can put it back, But the favourites are stored in the user.upoi file in the save folder, copy it from the old save folder to the new one (Plus anything in Userdata\POI) to retain them.
But before that, change the baud rate in the system file you referred to and try it again, The reason why we say to delete the save folder all the time, is because it sometimes holds onto incorrect settings and leads us to believe something else is wrong.

ok i went and did what you said, i changed the baud rate in system file to the the same in the settings file.. at first it didn't work all i got was this 4848
i waited 10 minutes to see if i got any connections and nothing.. so i went into the navigation menu and went to setup and reset the gps and then turned off the stereo and waited 5 minutes and then turned it back on and it seems that did the trick, everytime i turn on iGo Primo i get satellite connection straight away. i even turned the stereo off again and left it off 5 minutes and then tried it again and it seemed to connect straight away.. Ive never had that before
.. thanks guys for your help.. now i hope in the morning i get into my van it works again
or ill be
again on here lol

i did as you said, i have removed the saved file and started again without it and i still cant get it to connect to satellites. all i get is this image
4853
i don't know what to do now :-( .. how long should it take for the gps to pick up the satellites. i have iGo Primo 2 on my iPhone 4S and it does it in a matter of seconds.

There are a whole bunch of factors with that. No specific time is possible to guess. I have a stand-alone GPS that picks up a signal sometimes instantly, and sometimes after 30 seconds or more. I also have an Android phone that seems to take a bit longer, but bizarrely can get a lock sometimes indoors where the other will not. But I would say
in general, that if it takes more than a few minutes (after a satellite lock has been obtained at least once previously), then something is wrong that may be more hardware than software related.
What it could be in your specific case is somewhat of a mystery since it apparently worked 'for a while', then not under similar conditions. Erratic is very difficult to diagnose.

Has the system file reverted back to the wrong baud rate?

I've checked the system file and because there was no connection it didn't give a baud rate.

Yeah it is like that all the time. I can get a signal straight away sometimes. Other times it can take about an hour. I just went from Wolverhampton to Redditch and it picked up a satellite lock just before I got there :-(. Then I have to turn my engine off and my stereo goes off. Started the van again and the gps got a lock straight away. Then I did another delivery. Same again turned engine off then after 20 minutes started my van again and it took about 10 minutes to get a lock. It's a good job I have my iPhone with igo primo. It does seem very erratic at times :-(. Could it be the gps receiver. What do you think is a good one to buy.

Try adding the GPS settings into the system.ini file, I wouldn't know which receiver to recommend as i have limited experience with them.

Hello all:
I have a portable Igo Primo that operates on 1.1, I found an upgrade to 2.4 but the maps are still old and it won't open the navigation function when I change the navigation path to the new settings. Is there something that can be done to solve this problem or do you have an update that has maps from 2012 or 2013 that I can download for my device. I tried to use the naviextras.com but it doesn't even show my device so I can't update that way. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you get an error message?
Naviextras only works for legal versions of primo on supported devices.

Hi:
I have faced the same issue with my Erisin double din set, and here is the solution:
- Turn off your car.
- Remove the car stereo/ navigation.
- Unplug the power (it important) from back of the set.
- Reconnect the power.
- Be sure about the GPS antenna is connected properly.
- Return the set to it location.
- Turn on the car.
- Turn on the set and now the navigation should work.
- After the navigation is turned on; go to he navigation and search for the option of TURN OFF after you reach the destination; or wherever there is the AUTO-TURN off function; and do not activate that option at all; specially if you have any IGO application.
This is exactly what I follow. Now you should run the GPS and the navigation without problem.
Have fun.

As best I know my original version was legal and it didn't operate for that. I haven't tried naviextras since I got the other version. But I am more concerned with a more recent download with recent maps so that I can copy that version to my Gps.
