[Solved] Igo Primo 1.1 Speedcamera sound interrupt

Postby terzer » Mon Jan 03, 2011 2:32 pm

Hello, Happy new Year to everybody!
l'm new to this forum, but l use Igo since years.
Recently l bought 2 din integrated navigation system for my car, which is based on WM5.
So l installed Igo Primo 1.1 on it (using GJA 2.23 800x480 skin), works like a charm! (well, little bit slow)
However, the navigation has a function, which switches the DVD playback (music....) with the navigation software (Igo in this case), when Igo "wants to say something" (turn, warning...) this causes irritating music stop. l found that, when l turn off the sounds in Igo (key tones, voice guidance), the music doesn't stop when the nav switches. However one thing still remains: the speed camera warning. l changed the warning to visual only, but when l drive pass the speed camera point, the music still stops. l have visual warning on approach (no audio warning). l tried to delete the whole audio folder, mute all sounds, the music still stops. l don't know what to do. l'm out of options and ideas.

l want a visual warning only, and no interruption when l drive pass the camera. l think this is a bug, because the warning should be visual only.
l will take a video with the problem.
Excuse me for my bad English!
Thank You!

Edit:
Solved! The trick is to disable the sound in the GJA options. Its called Speed Camera passing.
Thanks to Fatboyfun !!!

Adding this to the sys.txt file adjusts how long iGO mutes the radio or CD, It may not completely fix the problem, but may reduce how long the device mutes for.

[sound]
ding=0
queue_length=200
suspend_time=200
use_os_volume=1

From this thread

What else is in your sys.txt?

Thank You, l will try!

[/spoiler]
The problem is that the navigation unit itself (not Igo but l'm not sure)(the nav unit is Caska CA3641 for Mazda 6 2009) switches the mode (from DVD or radio to navigation), which l think mutes the sound. lt's like the nav can't multi task. It was build this way and yes somebody may find it helpful, but it irritates me. l muted the whole Igo, only the speed camera remains.

Sorry for the shaking!

and now imagine in down town, where every traffic light has a camera and its full with mobile cameras.... l can't listed a single song without interruption... l don't want to turn them off, l want the visual warning only.

It can be frustrating i know.

The GJA skin has speed cam sound options within it, Settings, GJA Settings, Warnings settings, Passing Speedcam, causes a little click sound when passing the camera, Plus there is the overspeed option.

So it can be turned off? l can't test it until tomorrow.
It's stupid that the speed camera warning are only available when you're driving. lt would be cool, if the simulation supported those warnings.
Thanks!

Yes you can turn off the skin speedcam features, I have the passing speedcam sound turned off, If it still doesn't work, Try using the default primo skin.

All speedcam warnings can only be seen or heard when you have a satellite lock.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.
