i run primo 1.2 from the sd card & my device is connected to the cigarette lighter ~ when the car engine is turned off the device shuts down.
Is their anything i can put into sys.txt [or elsewhere] to keep the unit on & running from the device's battery to stop this happening? [the internal battery was charged up & i assume it is charged up further while connected to the cigarette lighter??]

These are the sys.txt entries responsible for power management in Primo 1.1.

[power]
skip_suspend_process_all=1
powermgm_state=1
allow_battery_full=1

However they make no difference on my device.

A while back, if the device was left still hooked up to the cigarette lighter plug and then someone started the car, there was a good chance of the unit/cable getting fried. This has since been corrected but I still think that you should disconnect the device before starting your car - you never know.

I wrote a Mortscript that suspends the device as soon as the power is removed, so it's not a problem for me :D

fatboy i used your sys.txt & it works a treat ~ i get a message the device is going to power down in 10secs, then if i hit back it stays on; so now i have the option to let it automatically shutoff or i can keep it on from the battery.
re chas's point; i used to think, like him, that it was best to disconnect the cable from the cigarette lighter plug before starting, but when i had a problem with my cigarette lighter working the car electrician said "if you plug your device in after the engine has started you can sometimes fuse the socket" ~ so you pays your money & takes your choice.
