iGo Speedcam Conflicts

Postby Skezza » Tue Mar 08, 2016 10:41 am

Hi,

I've got a China 2Din with some recent maps and I'm using 2.4 9.6.13.405512. It all seems to run fairly well but I have some issues with speedcams. It appears that the maps maybe (?) contain a library of speed cameras, which are conflicting with the speedcam folder. Either way, remove the speedcam folder, and a preset of cameras are loaded.

The speedcams that come with the maps (?) are outdated, and in many cases wrong altogether, mobile cameras are down as actual speed cameras for example. So they're not great.

However, drop the speedcam folder in the contents and the device takes over a minute to load iGo and no speedcams are loaded at all. You basically have no speedcams loaded into the memory whatsoever.

I'm guessing something like this can be fixed with a line in the sys.txt but I'm struggling to find out.

Any suggestions?

Is the "content/speedcam" folder up to date?

Are you running a skin?

Make sure the "speedcam" folder is the latest. Delete the save folder and re-configure your device.

They're definitely up to date. I am testing a fix in the sys.txt file. Ridiculous if this works, but basically i've set speedcam_enabled or whatever it is to 1. That's so poor, I didn't think primo needed such trivial flags enabled.

Did you also update the global_cfg file?

Primo needs a minimal syst.txt file. Most things are actioned in the data.zip file.

Any actions you make in sys.txt wil take preference to other instructions.

The entry in the content/speedcam file will contain the locations, speed limit and type of the speed cameras.

As chas521 said make sure the global_cfg file is current.

Setting that flag in sys.txt results in the cameras loading properly. However after a few minutes it crashes with a memory exception.

How would I check my global config? What am I looking out for?

global_cfg is located in "content/global_cfg". It is a zipped file.

OK, so tbh, your global_cfg seemed to make it worse lol, not better. It now runs insufferably slow loading the software and no speedcams appear. What the **** is going on with iGo nowadys

OK, so maybe the best way of debugging this infuriating issue is looking at my content folder. Maybe I need to make a whole new iGo folder where I add content just one step at a time. Believe me, I am desperate to sort this issue because I drive nearly 200 miles on Saturday and need to be all square.

So my content folder has:
- building
United_Kingdom_2014.Q1_140324.3dc
United_Kingdom_2014.Q1_140324.3dl
- dem
United_Kingdom_IRL_83_TA_071001.dem
- histspeed
United_Kingdom_83_NQ_60_2010.Q1_100702.hsp
- map
Basemap_R3_NIMA_2012.03_120402.fbl
United_Kingdom_2014.Q1_140324_(AP).fpa
United_Kingdom_2014.Q1_140324_(JW).fjw
United_Kingdom_2014.Q1_140324_(SP).fsp
United_Kingdom_HERE_2015.Q2_150813.fbl
United_Kingdom_HERE_2015.Q2_150813_(DA).fda
- phoneme
United_Kingdom_HERE_2014.Q2_140918.ph
- poi
United_Kingdom_HERE_2014.Q2_141007.poi

along with tmc licenses and tts voice.

I'm aware that there is quite a few map files there, is it possible they're causing the issue?

From what you have posted your copy of Primo has some very outdated maps.

Above is a link to my copy of Primo, with the latest UK content and speedcams.

It has included the DimKA skin which allows TTS speedcam anouncements and much more.

Open with Winrar and extract the contents of the enclosing folder to you PC.
