Let me give you a little info. I am having a large amount of trouble getting any skin to show up in iGo. iGo works great and I have tried downloading just about every file i can find for a 320x240 resolution. At this point it has to be something I'm doing wrong. I put every .zip file into content/skin folder but still no go. Is there anything else that has to be done?
Heres my info and any help is appreciated.

The most obvious thing is did you pick a skin? Go to settings\second page\menu\skin and pick the skin.

Good question, but yes. The only thing that shows on the menu page is backgrounds.

It should also show "animation" and a grayed-out "skin." Next, did you pick a skin for iGO 8.3.2 or 8.3.4?

Rename the folder ui_igo8 to ui_igo8_da inside data.zip from an iGO 8.3.4 version.
See this in your sys.txt:
[interface]
skin="ui_igo8"
make it:
[interface]
skin = “ui_igo8_da”
EDIT: Put a data.zip from version 8.3.4 in place of the data.zip you now have and make the changes I told you above. I have a feeling that you downloaded the wrong skin version. Remember to back-up first.

A basic question: What skins did you download and install? Could it be it are no iGO8 skins? There is a incompatibility between 8.3.1, 8.3.2 or 8.3.4 and Primo skins. Not to mention 8.4 skins (Amigo, but those are .gro files).
Also important and often the cause: the folder to place a skin should be called "skin", not "skins". Check that.

Thanks to everyone trying to help, I'll try to answer in turn.
my menu screen only shows backgrounds, that's all. No grayed out skins or animations.
Since I have iGo version 8.3.2 will the data.zip from 8.3.4 work right? The skin versions of dimka and another one were supposed to support 8.3.2 to my understanding of their description.
I also checked to make sure of folder name, it's skin no S.
I'm as confused as you guys, believe me I've googled the heck out of this problem before I posted it here. As simple as it seems to install these skins it's just not happening for me.

I am as puzzled as you are.
Why not update your iGO? I spent hours yesterday and the day before on renewing program links
here, so the links must still be alive.
Simply replace the exe (when newer 8.3.2) and also data.zip (when 8.3.4, then also see post #5 !!)

Not to keep the problems rolling but I now have a new one. I downloaded the 8.3.4 you posted with licenses (THANKS) but now when loading up iGo it now errors out and says: failed to open file ui_igo8_da\320_240\loading.bmp
I changed my systxt as noted above. Sorry but any ideas?

for the older problem, did you check that you downloaded the right resolution skin?
did you put it in \content\skin folder?

Open (unzip) data.zip/ui_igo8_da/320_240 and see there is a file called loading.bmp.
If not (probably not) use the one from the other data.zip (look at the same place = same resolution). Just copy/paste in the right spot and zip again. I use TotalCommander for these operations.

I believe I got it working. I changed vga=1 to vga=0 under interface and it loaded right up. THANKS to everyone who helped me on this, I hope to repay by helping someone else in the future. Thanks again.

changed vga=1 to vga=0 ??
[Please Register or Login to download file] When did you change vga=0 to vga=1 ?? (your posted sys.txt - post #1 - says vga=0)
