Fri Jun 08, 2012 6:58 pm

i have a unlocked navman s30 loaded with both the original smartst and the igo8 op system, everything works fine on the original navman but when i switch to to the igo8 and type in a postcode or destination then i get a error message low memory cache. not enough memory. the original op system is on the internal flash drive and the igo8 is on a 2gb sd card

thanks

Your problem is your device only has 32MB RAM. The iGO then needs to be as thin as possible. No TTS, no DEM file, no buildings, no .....
A trick to save memory that works is to delete all not needed resolutions in data.zip (and branding.zip, when present). But do it carefully, AFTER BACKING UP THE FILES FIRST !!!!

it looks like i have two file the same, i have a data zip file & a date file with the resolutions in and the same with branding zip & branding

???? What ??? you should only have a data.zip and a branding.zip. No data file, no branding file. Seems you f***ed up the install, but when it is working ....

Let's hope you didn't do too much other demolition work and delete the non zipped data and branding.
Then:
In data.zip should be a ui_8 folder with the resolutions in it. That's where the unneeded resolutions should be deleted. In data.zip you only need 320*240, in branding.zip it depends on the version. Most don't even have a 320*240 in it, but only 480*272, then it is best to leave the branding.zip as it is.

Important: do leave the files zipped !!!
