IGo8 on Maestro doesn't work in Austria ?

Mon Jul 18, 2011 10:46 am

Hi all,
I apologize in advance if this is already posted however I was not able to find any solution so far.

I have Magellan Maestro 3200c GPS unit on which I have successfully installed IGO 8.3 navigation and I have used it three times so far traveling across Europe with no problem except for Austria.

Whenever I enter address in Austria the program loads the route and when it gets to 100% it restarts, and same thing happens if from Austria I try to enter address outside of the country. The only time I was able to use it in Austria is in Vienna and just after I entered the city not before that....

If anyone has any idea what the issue might be I will be very grateful.
Thanks

Some possible solutions...

Corrupted Austria map
Device running out of memory
Mismatch of map provider, ie Teleatlas Austria Navteq rest of Europe
Corrupted hnr/hsp or other related file

Hi Fatboyfun,
Thanks for your fast reply...
I have played with the maps and the GPS for a while as I had some time between the two travels I tried to fix it so I:
- updated all maps for Europe they are all TA including the Austrian one and different from the ones I had when I first had the problem
- for running out of memory (can it be the case that it doesn't run out of memory in Germany *with a larger map and more poi's) and it does only in Austria no other European country
- Corrupted hnr/hsp or other related file (I DON'T quite understand this can you please elaborate)
thanks again

Have you tried a different map provider?

.hsp is histspeed, like iq routes on Tomtom
.hnr is pre-processed route files
By other files i meant poi, driver alerts, etc

You have all Europe maps on your device/sd?
What happens when you remove temporarily all unneeded maps to set up a route between your place and somewhere in Austria? So when you are living in Danmark, you need Danmark, Germany and Austria, no more.
And what happens when your destination is further, but crossing Austria?
The .hnr files wont work when not all countries are loaded ;)
