iGO8 + Nextar W3G-01, buttons behaving oddly.

Postby waynegretzky » Thu Oct 10, 2013 6:59 pm

Hi all,

I picked up a secondhand W3G-01 for $10 and immediately threw iGO on there to replace the awful stock software with maps from 2007.

Generally everything works great, except for two things:

1) Whenever I use the hardware volume button on the side, iGO opens the settings menu in addition to WinCE showing me the volume overlay. This is quite annoying since I have to exit the settings menu to get back to map mode.

2) The physical "Menu" button doesn't do anything. It would be great if I could get iGO to recognize this as a way to get to the main menu, but I'm not overly optimistic.

Any ideas about these two issues?

Thanks!

There is a file called keybind.txt somewhere in the data.zip, you can edit the functions of hardware buttons there.

Also note this file only works with iGO8, it is not supported in Primo.

Good find, thanks. I'm going to have to figure out a way to determine what keycode the menu button sends. Although I literally upgraded to Primo 2.4 30 minutes before reading your reply so this is probably a moot point.
